Our gameplan was fine if damage limitation was the goal. We didn't need to make loads of chances. We needed players who could get on the ball and keep it.Our gameplan was fine. Its almost impossible to create a ton of chances against Arsenal with the way they play. Even the game they lost at home to United was due to a world class goal by Cunha from long range.
The issue was we made a mistake right at the end when it matters.
Because he lost the ball every time it touched him. They’re both dreadful but we already knew that. Honestly just play George up front. He’s at least a footballer.Barry was pathetic- Beto was closing down - why sub him ??.....
DMs late substitutions ridiculous should have been on 290 minutes earlier....
A Manager who is to predictable...
They did very little with the ball. You can let this Arsenal team have the ball a lot of the time as long as you limit their counter attacks and set plays. They aren't a good footballing side. They are an incredibly effective, organised, solid, and more expensive version of a Moyes side. Our gameplan was fine if damage limitation was the goal. We didn't need to make loads of chances. We needed players who could get on the ball and keep it.
We need better players and more adventure to get results against the likes of this Arsenal side. Giving them 70% of the ball will inevitably end up killing us. Pressure eventually tells.
Losing in injury time away to the champions whilst having the better chances is hardly a disgraceJust to bring about a bit of positivity, we aren’t actually on that bad of form. Since the cup exit in January our record is
P9 W4 D2 L3
Stick to NFL mate. We matched them, outplayed them for the majority of the game. Tactics were fine. Fine margins but clearly lost on you.
Arguably our best performance this season under the circumstance. Think you're a bit of a wind up. Clearly also never played football or have deep routed tactical understanding. The NFL is boring, and I never played it.
I prefer to watch an entertaining game, which is why I am so frustrated with Moyes.
Maybe it happens now and it's 1:1, then what?I mean he’s played 500 games and it hasn’t happened. He isn’t commanding in his box with his arms, let alone his head.
Just not worth doing it.
I don't understand why they're all up his hoopWe'd lost already, the difference is we made Dowman's stock rise even more (which is unbelievable, given the studio/Sky commentary, as he's already the best 16 year old player in the universe).
Agree, not expecting a match winner ( esp off our bench )but we basically conceded midfield to them 2nd half. What match winner did we have to put on? Squad still highly limited
