Anicheibe really did struggle against our CB. i thought he was gonna do better than he did against Mertesacker who is slow. But he atleast knows he is slow as hell and avoid getting himself in positions where he is isolated

cant even think of one tackle we made that was even half bad. if we were playing stoke the majority of our fouls wouldn't have been given because they're players wouldn't have fallen over by the sheer velocity of a shirt tug.

I think Mertesacker is mostly a terrible CB but he did a really good job on Anichebe tonight. Didn't let him get possession or hold the ball up much at all. One of your better player performances on the night.

Its funny how little he is rated by opposition while most arsenal fan rate him as our best CB. Its Vermaelen who is overrated and poor. Mertesacker is much better than him

I guess I don't watch Arsenal much but I have seen a few matches where he has gotten absolutely abused by pacey forwards. Maybe that was a while ago and he's improved though.
