Yep...that's the one...the one that was our backup when healthy for several seasons.
All good but he isn't an option any more, and I still believe we need a good striker to play with Lukaku next season as a priority.
Right...but my point is that he is a better option than what we had in a backup role for years. I also think your OTT assertion that he can't score in this league was out of bounds. It's simply not factually true.
He has scored one goal this season mate...does that impress you? And he doesn't look capable of scoring again.
What he did 3 season's ago doesn't mean he can still do it now.
I don't find that OTT, hysterical or a drama queen a statement to make.
1 goal in 9 appearances. Glad you're not in charge of decisions based on 9 games...so yeah, it is kneejerk IMO.
He's shown me good hold up play, gets others involved, and has good movement. The goals will come with confidence.

I am 100% with kithnou on this one. I thought Kone failed the test against Soton.
It was a tough game in which to lead the line but he did not do enough.
Other than the goalkeeper issue, I would say getting a decent no.9/10 to assist, cover for Lukaku is the most important pending issue.

I don't disagree that improving the backup striker isn't something we need to be looking for. I took issue with the OTT post from @kithnou. It wasn't factually correct.

Was just trying to put our little debate into context for that poster. I do actually agree that I'd like us to improve the position...even if that means Kone comes good. I also thought Vic was a sub par option when here, and as I stated, I think Kone is a better option than he was.
