Are we angling for Lukaku?

I wouldn't disagree ,thought he was very poor tonight , was looking over to the bench to see if velios was going to be given a shout . He needs to get competition in his position IMHO .

I think the lad has a lot of improving to do to have a chance of being No.1 choice at Chelsea. He's pretty average at holding the ball up for a big guy and his link up play needs a fair bit of work.

He's young and I'm sure he'll improve with age and be a top player but Chelsea can't guide him through that whilst trying to win PL titles and champion leagues. Lukaku from his side wants to play not be stuck on a bench. With 18 months left on his contract something's gota give....

I don't think a deal is as far fetched as some think. Wouldn't suprise me to see a deal done come summer, maybe with a buy back clause in there somewhere.

He's just a wee bit out of form. Someone to share the load and give him a rest up front needs to be key.

We will be ogling him again before too long. He's too ace to keep down for any length of time.

Strikers, like any players, go through patches of good and bad form, we just don't have anyone to come on for him and it's more noticeable being the leading man. He will have a fantastic career, whether for us or Chelsea or whoever, he's allowed to be off for a few games.

On form or not do you think he has the hold up play and link up play to go into a Chelsea side trying to win a title or CL?

Sensible this.

Not right now, but he's very young and learning all the time, in a few years, he's certainly an asset for them.

He's about our level at the moment, great player, but inconsistent. We're a great team, but not quite there.

I'll say this. I think he has a lot of upside. A lot of upside.

He's in a bit of a rough patch right now but EVERY striker goes through that.

I'd also have a hard time stumping up 20M right now. I think 12M to 15M would be more reasonable but then:

1) We're the buying club so of course I'd say that and

2) Chelsea don't have to sell.

This, although I'd spend the 20mil (if we had it) because we will see him be worth all of that and then some as his career unfolds.

Anichebe is better at holding the ball up and bringing people into play ffs.

My eyes would water if we paid anything above 16/17M.

I honestly don't think the player is suited to a team which controls play, he is good on the counter attack where he has space to stride into using pace and power, but, when it comes to being technical in small areas and interplay.. lets be honest he's awful at it.

I would put Mirallas upfront and have Mcgeady and Pienaar on the wings.

Difficult to put a valuation on Romelu at the moment. I reckon about 12mio to 17mio.

That's about the right price.

I cannot see Chelsea have him as a squad player nevermind a starter. He is at the stage that he needs first team football. He and Everton are the perfect match.

12-17 mil is nowhere near the price for his potential alone.

Under martinez he will improve through gsme time and also his technical side will develop as well...

With barkley right behind him thats really a frightening prospect over the next few seasons.

Ok...clearly, its all part of the Grand Roberto plan...he had a cunning idea you see...

Lukaku starts to mouth off at Chelski, get's into a media blue with the chosen one, and then starts to play like crap. Abramovich decides he doesn't want him, Mourhino decides to get rid, Roberto says "Well, he's not as good as you said so, here's a few million for your troubles" and BANG! We got him!

Ok...I'll be dreaming of dreadlocks tonight!(y)
