Apologies in advance but this pitch business is really bugging me

If the pitch hasn't been raised then the walls around the pitch must have been lowered.

maybe the stadium is shrinking, it's happened before, most of the stadiums in south america suffered huge losses in crowd capacity due to unforseen shrinkage way back in 1984-85, the mighty Maracana in Brazil was reduced to nought more than a mere subbuteo stadium, pele was laughing about it but you could tell he was livid

that's why mexico ended up hosting the world cup tournament in '86

It's the white netting mate. Black (and blue) is a slimming colour, thus making the grass appear shorter. This makes some sense in my head

It's brill we've gone back to white nets. Well done Martinez. Think it'll help Jelavic see them easier.
Hopefully they removed the posts before they raised the pitch eighteen inches.

If they didn't then the drug testers are gonna be slightly suspicious about how all those Goalkeepers grew 18 inches over the summer.

The pitch is clearly higher than it was. Not quite Old Traffordesque though in the way it now slopes down quickly to the running track. No addiitonal viewing problems though. In fact if its higher the viewing must now be better for those in the first few rows.

There are also changes to some seating. We appear to have lost a row or two of the seats at the back of the Enclosure either side of the dug out. And we have also lost 30 seats in the front rows of the Street End to either side of the goal, apparently to accommodate extra Sky cameras for 3D games (what a waste of time that is). We also appear to have reduced the seating area for the disabled in the St End.

Disgraceful that. Martinez Out.

Jesus! It's like Beeches Brook.
Has Bill bought us some bolt guns to 'put down' any unfortunate runners?

I reckon the running track has also been raised from the height it was. Sitting in the front row of the enclosure could be like sitting in the front row of the cinema. Best avoided.
