Might be too old for most but the the folk tune Bobby Shaftoe might do it.

To the Bobby shafto tune

Rob Mar.....ti....nez went to see

a football club a family

he come back and said with glee

stuff those kopite bastards.

Vil...la park and red men too

cried out loud because they knew

a "chosen" heart is royal blue

bobby blue mar..ti...nez

I like that, tbh.

Absolutely class this.

"everything is great when you win, and everything is wrong when you lose and I don't think thats the case. I think as a player as a team you can set little targets that you know if you do them well over the course of the season you win more games than you lose"

I think this is an important quote from Bobby, as some people are worried that he is a little too positive to the point where it may be just bullsh*t and that they won't want to listen to his positivity when we lose a game badly or go on a poor run. Here he is specifically demonstrating that when we get hockeyed 4-1 by Fulham some day or something like that he won't just be talking up positive aspects of the game just to be positive and put a spin on it. He is showing that he will be looking at lots of different aspects of the performance and so rightly might have some pluses to take from a game even when its a bad one.

He is a proper forward thinking manager, looking at the whole picture of the results and position at the end of season but also looking at all elements involved in that.

The problem can be matching this with the outlook of the average fanbase which, just like some of the media stories and headlines, jump from doom to gloom and don't seem to be able to find a middle ground and show some patience.

I like that, as shown with his eye for getting youth into the first team squad and using them, he seems to have a long term plan and know where he is going. With the last dude he did well to slowly reshape the squad and first team a few times over the years but generally was resistant to change. We see already with Bobby that he will change things if he doesn't feel they are working whether before or during a game.

anyway...love him! Allez Allez Allez OOOH!

Yes was there, a very nice evening, and yes he did turn the ***** down , he said it didn't feel natural and it was something he didn't feel comfortable with, his words, and then to draw a laugh he said they also play in red.

I love Bobby as much as the next guy on here but let's not kid ourselves......if Wigan had been relegated in 2012 then he would have been off and I have no doubt he would have taken the job at Anfield.

Roberto Martinez was never going into the Chanpionship with a club like Wigan.

He has very quickly become the personification of everything we see that is good in our beloved club but we had two bits of outrageous fortune this year......Ferguson's retirement and Wigan's relegation.

It was a Perfect Storm.

Can't believe he actually turned the sh*te down.

Always seemed to good to be true.

Our paths have been on a collision course for years. From the moment he turned down that lot really.

"Fate" is when everything comes together, the right match at the right time.

Whatever views some now have on moyes, he was the right man for the period he was in charge. He was the perfect match. Now bobby is the perfect match for this period.

We can count ourselves very lucky. But not as lucky as the two managers who ended up at this fantastic club at the right time.

I do think we have to give some credit to BK. You have to accept his passion for the club.

Agreed, the negative spend he allowed his new manager in the summer was a masterstroke. Just thinking how ace we'd have been in Kirkby if KEIOC hadn't turned down the planning application.

I disagree with you there mate I don't think whether Wigan went down or stayed up affected Martinez's decision regarding liverpool at all. Like it or not, Liverpool is a massive job and pull, Rogers left a strong Swansea side to join them. Rogers is a different kettle to Martinez though, he is doing a decent job but since he joined Liverpool he has created a complete parody of himself with his new teeth, leccy tan and philosophies. That is what Liverpool needed though, a bluffer for there self absorbed fanbase.

It's a well known fact that he did not like the running of the club so turned them down due to the amount of control he would have. I don't know wether a man of his decency could manage that shower. As it happens he's found a club that seems to have the same ethos as him. So far it seems we are lucky to have found him as I get the feeling he's already fallin for Everton. But, and he will know, he is much luckier to have found Everton.

KEIOC turned down down the planning application ?
LOL ! It was central government.
As per usual some factins of our fan base concern themselves with nothing more than the bunion buzz phrase of 'negative spend'.
Meanwhile, back on topic, Roberto Martinez gets along quietly improving Evertons fortunes on the pitch. Making a fine job of it too.

I think you'll find that Mr Elephant is on a wind up as usual. At least I hope he is!
