Should start every game until the rest of the season.

How have we spent however many millions and a 19 yr old kid is our best option off the bench. There cannot have a been worse period of recruitment in the history of football.

A positive player at last. Some fans just point out some games that players dot make mistakes. This guy gets the ball and tries to affect the game with a dribble, shot or pass. Showed up Gomes tonight second half.

We've unearthed another gem here. With ancelotti at the helm here's to hoping that this kid doesn't get infected with the cowardly crap certain players put on show each week

Bright spark again. Give him as much time as possible until the end of the season.
Plays with courage running at players and with freedom.
Could be work in a #10 role?

Tried his absolute best tonight and showed some quality.

But sums up everything that is wrong with Everton at the moment. He's a young kid, just come into the first team, and those surrounding him are so so awful that he is being shuffled across the front line and midfield to fire-fight for which ever experienced pro is currently slacking.

If you look at other clubs - like the United sides of the 90s - a youngster came in, and played in the position that they'd played throughout their youth development - so Giggs and Beckham on the wing, Scholes off the front man and so on. They weren't moved about as teenagers, expected to work it out. It's embarrassing. WTF is the DoF for.

tbf though mate, he's played all along the front for the u23's. There's a few on here who reckon he'll be a striker, a few who reckon he's a 10, a few who reckons he's a right winger, and 1 who reckons he'll be tosh but not mention anyone's name @MarcelsGoat ;)

Whwn he gets a chance, he's gotta grab it by the balls and nail down what's right for him. He was great against Leicester and solid tonight. Tactically he's miles ahead of most kids, Unsworth has trained him well in that sense and moving up to the 1st team is even better.

Long way to go, but he's at least getting a look in which is a bonus

It's been that way for ages unfortunately. We did exactly the same with Barkley - all the creative burden was put on him pretty much immediately when he came in the team. Perhaps it's partly a hangover from when we had no money at all and it was fairly likely that some of our youth players would be as good if not better than the senior pros we could afford. To still be doing it when we pay such big money on transfers and wages is an absolute joke, though.

Starting him instead of Davies would have left Gomes, Sigurdsson and Iwobi to underperform. Yes Gordon needed to be in there but no need to target Tom.

All of whom actually did underperform. Davies had a decent game against the RS, but the games where he does actually play well are very few and far between, he's at the age now where he needs to step his game up to the next level, which he just isn't doing.

I stand by what i said about him.

He's also playing next to some utterly terrible players. As far as midfielders I'd be getting rid of, Tom is probably second bottom on the list behind Gbamin (and that's only because I don't see the point of binning someone before they play).

See I think the total opposite. We've now got players who have come up through the youth setup (again) and we have no real idea what their best position is (again). Davies, Dowell, Lundstram, Gordon, they'll just be moved (or were moved) around until something sticks. Even Holgate has played CB, RB and defensive mid. It's not made him a better player, and no coincidence that he got better as soon as he had a fixed spot in his obvious position.

It cannot be underestimated what a shocking job Unsworth has done in prepping our youngsters for the first team - and the even shoddier job our DoFs have done in providing zero club "ethos" in place.
