In the 2010/2011 season he was s**t and never even managed one goal, and for a striker that is shocking. So I could understand why the fans were getting on the lads back. But to be fair to Victor, despite being injured for most of the season, he has managed to score 6 important goals for us, which isn't a bad return considering he was out injured for so long.

Imagine if Victor read the forums haha. It'd be no wonder he never celebrates. He gets abused pretty much every time his name is mentioned. Hopefully we can shift him for a decent fee and he can sort his career out elsewhere because I don't dislike him tbh.

I think people need to have some sympathy for him, and he doesn't celebrate because he was scoring but not starting, if we do shift him on he'll do a a yakubu and we'l be saying what if..

He is definitely not getting more stick than ever

Yeah the discussions gone from "worst player I've ever seen, he should never play again" to "useful squad player, but we can do better and his attitude isn't great".

Okay maybe not more, but I disagree with AF's assertion. Most on here seem to be attacking him as a person and a player.

I'm just of the opinion that, going by last season's showing, maybe it's a bit harsh. He didn't feature much again but his goals-per-minute ratio was fantastic. He seems to have calmed down a bit in interviews, and has seemingly put any spat with Moyes behind him.

He'll never be Drogba but he showed a marked improvement last year. For the first time I can recall he had some tidy, clinical and composed finishes. The Landon-assisted one was great, as was the one that went in off the post.

I didn't really have a problem with him until i heard all of the stuff about him being an utter snide and everybody at the club hating him.

Wouldn't surprise me if he does read the forums. Some players probably do and laugh off any criticism. Others will read them and take it to heart. Vic seems short of confidence and is probably the latter. In the games we saw him he improved quite a bit last season. If he stays and his confidence builds he could improve more. I hope he does but if he moves on then good luck to him. e's had some frightful injuries and deserves a bit of luck somewhere
