Quote all you want his goal scoring record mins per game has been top knoch the past two seasons - ok cameo performances due to injury did very well when Jelly was injured = dropped - DM is doing the same with Barkley no chance of coming on as sub - playing out of form players JH coming on was pathetic - Jelly should have been subbed with 15 mins to go on Sat for Barkley or Vellios - favorites have to be stopped being picked end off!

Ask yourself this....... IF .... and it's only an IF.......we got top4 this season and qualified for champs league..... is Vic good enough to be our plan B off the bench ? let alone as a starting striker. I don't really dislike the lid but the fact remains he is not a premiership quality striker.

It goes back to expectation and squad depth.
Vic and a few others are steady mid-table players and can do a job at that level.
If you are looking for players to keep you top 6/top4 year after year then you need a decent squad of 17 or 18 players, we have 11 or 12 that arguably meet that standard. Of which some are slaughtered every now and again!

Is Jelly a mid table goal scorer this season then? his goals per game ratio is not better than Victors when he played when Jelly was injured?
Like it or not Victor playing time on the pitch this season & last season is better bar his injury - I do not feel he deserved to be dropped in all honesty if you count the goal that wasent v newcastle his scoring ratio is better than most in the last two seasons.
He would be ideal to have him fit - The alledged Fulham bust up or strop has cost us dearly as jelly has just stopped scoring!
We struggle to score TWO -too many draws!

Are you the chairman of jelly scoring ratio is pants? I am a fan of all the players not just the chosen few, who get on the bench every week or in the team every week when our manager has not got the inclination to drop an out of form player. Are you saying he does not have his favourites???? - Why fetch Barkley back off loan & not use him with 15 mins to go v Norwich when all three midfielders were knackered - cost us 3 points!

What's so "pants" about a scoring ratio that has Jelavic on target for 15 league goals??

Not this season - look Jelly is a class striker when injured Victor did not let us down in anyway - now he is injured after a spat at Fulham for what ever reason playing him in the under 21's the very next day am - he got badly injured not the brightest move by DM - as we now have not much competition of a goalscorer - thats what Victor did when given the chance!
Even Vellios is not being used as even a sub - Jelly is going through a bad patch all strikers can do that he may come good sooner than later but competition is needed to be used!
