Angus Kinnear

It’s most likely true he’s moved to “lower” clubs for better roles. Very normal. Slight concern though that the higher level clubs he has worked for didn’t see his potential and tie him down to avoid future disruption. Could have easily thrown another couple of hundred grand a year at him to make him part of succession planning, if he was clearly talented.

I wouldn’t necessarily draw a line saying they HAVE to have worked at a PL club. And certainly wouldn’t aim so narrow as to say they HAVE to have worked at a PL club that has moved grounds. A interesting short term bonus maybe (although all contracts for running BMD will already be in place), but a billion miles from being a pre-requisite.
Not sure West Ham would've been looking to replace Brady. Likewise Arsenal seem to have long tenured CEOs.

Whatever everyone’s reservations are over this rumour, it’s key to remember that it’s a major step up on what we have had in recent years. Baxendale was promoted from EITC role but was never equipped for such a role in a club as big as ours. Since she escaped the headlock, we have been a rudderless ship with nobody leading which is shocking, and testament to the lack of care Moshiri had towards the club towards the end. Major kudos quite rightly goes to Chong for putting fires out, but he was never going to be our perm CEO. A professional, experienced, commercially driven CEO, even if it’s Kinnear, is levels above anything we have had for years, and you’d hope with the business acumen of TFG, it could be perfect timing too.

Mark Douglas piece suggesting that they want CEO in place in a matter of weeks and to be involved in decisions concerning stadium naming and Thelwell contract.

Bit surprised about the stadium naming if correct. I would have thought that would have been well down the line already under TFG oversight and delays related only to uncertainty over our PL status which is now all but resolved.

I'd expect an appointment by April though and that will be good news. Douglas seems to be relatively clued in under the new regime.

I think Kinnear would have been at Arsenal during their stadium move and naming rights, other sponsorship deals etc as head of Marketing.

He was also at West Ham for their stadium move although I think naming rights are not something West Ham can negotiate themselves, they need the London Legacy Development Corporation to do that for them, there is some talk they are now in negotiations with Aviva.

I’m sure Mark Douglas is right, but I’m v surprised that anyone currently in situ at another club could walk straight into a job here. You’d think there’d have to be a period of gardening leave, which of course wouldn’t fit with the idea that the new CEO would lead on stadium naming rights or Thelwell’s contract. Maybe they’re just keen to get rid of him?!

Anything and I mean anything is an improvement on Baxendale and her clan including Dave Prentice who magically appeared on BBC Sounds yesterday.

Comms SME who has preceded over the worst communications in the club's long history.
Is Prentice still employed by the club in a comms capacity?

The social media / YouTube material the club release on matchdays as well as that for stadium are top drawer. Not sure if we outsource some to all of that but it’s excellent.

Seem to remember them getting a new social media guy in relatively recently. Things seem to have improved since then.

Hes still the director of comms which is a PR role. He's obviously not sitting there editing YouTube videos
