Do you think? I think we'll struggle to sign any promising young players due to the fact we can't offer Europe and we have a manger who won't play them, as evidenced by this season. We won't be able to sign the best players from the relegated or bottom part of the Premier League because there's no discernable difference between us and the likes of Leeds, and we can't offer European football like clubs like Palace (probably), and two of Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford.

The only players we'll be able to sign are mercenaries who we'll massively overpay for because they'll sign for anyone who pays them the most, or number 35 on the wanted list for the clubs who are in Europe or know what they're doing. Moyes won't be shopping at Aldi, he'll be shopping at Tesco on a Sunday at 5 minutes to closing time, having to take whatever is left on the shelf.

Hope that's cheered everybody up :)
Don't forget the world cup casting its shadow on the transfer market too. Always messes up early business and plays into the hands of greedy agents.

….it’s a bit of a nonsense, we signed ‘promising young players’ last season and were in a worst position than this. The PL will always be an attraction as will Everton, have no doubt about that.
Flipping heck Eggs you sound like Moyes. He was "surprised" nobody wanted to sign for Everton last summer. You and he should be prepared to be surprised again.

Some heavy lifting going on with that statement Anus my old mate.

Wonder if Steve Bruce or Egil Olson could reach such lofty heights after managing a gazillion games🤔

FFS, that phrase gets worse by the minute every time you think about it.

"Happily dissatisfied" - that'll go down in folklore like "Taxi for <insert manager name>" and "Good Times".

What an achievement. Take a bow Angus. It usually takes years to utter something historical and so negatively memorable.

They were promising but to who? In order to fulfil that promise they do need development and on pitch time which they’ve barely had this season. Let’s hope they get a lot more time next season. This summers transfers out will be just as interesting as the inbound activity
