Angus Kinnear

The amount of stick Thelwell got for his nose! I thought he came across quite well in that interview. He seems to have built himself up a nice track record for getting thing done, and it's good to see more business orientated people in the top positions, we are a sleeping giant and I think these people can wake us up providing the fans show a bit of patience.
I found it particularly reassuring that unlike pretty much every photo of him, on film he doesn’t looking like he’s mid way through curling one out.

The use of ‘World Class’ when describing Moyes was a bit foolish as was the suggestion that the Academy and young players are important to Moyes. Other than that I liked his style….positive, clear, concise and aggressive, which is exactly what we need to be as a club going forward

These "departments" seem to be:

- Data Analytics
- Football Operations
- Recruitment / Talent
- Trading / Negotiations

Open to correction there. I would like to know the scope of "Football Operations" which sounds a bit vague. Perhaps that's areas like Sports Science and other functions which don't fit in the other areas.

With the CEO and manager, that's a group of six. I'd imagine they would try to achieve a consensus view on a player, but any significant doubt on the part of one person would probably be enough to block a move. It would be fascinating to know what weight data would have in decisions. You have to have that, but it can't form the basis of everything.

Generally, from what I have observed at other clubs that operate similar systems, Football Operations provides the oversight of the football and is therefore responsible for ensuring that there is a cohesive footballing approach throughout the club to the football played . Effectively all the coaches of the various teams throughout the club report to him.
The other positions represent a devolvement of certain aspects that were previously the responsibility of the DoF .
