Angus 'happily dissatisfied' Kinnear

[Edit] My favourite bit of that, is after proclaiming the depth of consultation and confidence and pride of the badge, when they u-turned he then told press the fans should trust them
This cracked me up.

Lots of the teams we should be competing with have much higher standards and far more impatience to improve. You don't hear them constantly reminding fans that we weren't in a relegation battle

Until we have leadership off the field that holds players and managers to account, and wants to properly compete in the top half of the table, then nothing changes.

I'm fed up hearing people in the club try to tell us we are expecting to much. Asking for a competitive Everton isn't what they want to hear. They want to keep the bar and expectations as low as possible to try and look good.
Very true
The relegation battles though real should be an utter embarrassment that needs mentioning less and less, not pointed to as a new bar

He was trying to make a smug, smart arse remark about how we've progressed but we wanted to go further. Anyone who's worked in football knows you have to choose your words carefully. What he should have said was "we feel we've progressed on the playing side, but we still have a long way to go before we meet our ambitions of challenging for top honours again". However, the modern breed of bs spouting execs can't use language like that because it's not a soundbite.
Spot on.

Another DFS regional sales manager 'running' one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Wild that we keep getting it so badly wrong.

What Kinnear did at Leeds was to increase turnover which he did. Plenty of other gaffes for sure, but he also did communicate with fans there.
