Angus 'happily dissatisfied' Kinnear

He was trying to make a smug, smart arse remark about how we've progressed but we wanted to go further. Anyone who's worked in football knows you have to choose your words carefully. What he should have said was "we feel we've progressed on the playing side, but we still have a long way to go before we meet our ambitions of challenging for top honours again". However, the modern breed of bs spouting execs can't use language like that because it's not a soundbite.

Not everything in the world is a conspiracy mate...

The club is still coming out of FFP issues and 3 near relegations. We can't afford or attract the best Manager, CEO or players yet, no matter how easy it is in Football Manager.
Sunderland are coming out of 2 promotions and have attracted a good manager, they lost their best players in the summer and replaced them, TFG have cleared the debts.

Chelsea have massive FFP issues but it doesn't bother them

It's over for this feller.

There's no recovery from it.

10% season ticket prices imposed on fans without the courtesy of an explanation or promise that it gets frozen next season; then telling those same supporters that the club are happy about being tripe.

No one recovers from that. He's way more of a laughing stock than Brand was when he had to go.

His very presence here undermines whatever TFG are trying to achieve. He cant be allowed to carry on.

He started to lose me when he hid in response to a massive hike in season ticket prices - rises of up to almost 10%, close to three times the current rate of inflation for their season tickets. No response to FAB's request either. It says a lot when your CEO doesn't front the challenges/negative.

But this?....

As we look back on the season, we can be ‘happily dissatisfied’. The progress is clear but we have not achieved anything yet. We were able to stop looking over our shoulder by Christmas with relegation fears

... this mentality, to be shared with such confidence absolutely kills the club.

I honestly can't recall a worse update from an Everton CEO than that.

Disgusting that. The good thing is plenty of fans have seen through him which gives me hope for the future.

BTW, just think of this: the increases to be borne by season ticket holders and other fans next season could easily have been taken care of and avoided by finishing a couple of places higher in the league by getting a point or two more and securing that extra placement cash.

The punishment beating they handed out to the fans on ticket price rises sits uneasily with praising and retaining a clearly failing manager.

I think they would have increased them regardless of league position.

Fair play to Angus.

"Happily dissatisfied" now joins "Good times" in the Evertonian snake oil lexicon.

Bill is blushing with pride.
