I’m not sure if he even played footy but Burnham is 56, I’m 70 this year but unlikely our paths crossed as he won’t have been good enough to play against me

Living in Greater Manchester, Burnham has done rather well and is popular across the political spectrum. I voted for him and would do so again.

I suspect he would lean very much more left wing in charge of Labour, but honestly compared to the current cross bench right wing or right of centre parliament we now have, it would be a blessing.

Bring it on, we need more compassion in politics not more bigoted hatred of anyone that does not conform to an idealised (non-existent) standard.
