….a bit surprised he’s applying, be interesting if he gets to stand or if Starmer blocks it.

I doubt he’ll ever be ‘out of work’ but he’s standing down as a Mayor, might not get selected by his Party or lose the by-election if he is. Anticipating a collapse in May council elections, there might be a coup to crown him if he is on backbenches, but a lot of things will have to fall into place for that to happen.

I hope it does, he’s not just a talker, he does tend to make things happen and deliver.

Labour would have to put Adolf Hitler up for election in Denton to even give any if the other parties a sniff of getting their deposit back.

Much better than Starmer so yes please. Hopefully the other parties can similarly improve their leaders and make it competitive because of capability rather than the limbo dance of the woeful that's currently on offer.
