Hes the worst player I've ever seen at getting up to match speed after an injury. It takes him 3 to 4 matches and the problem with that is hes out injured again by the 6 match.

I think this is why he’s never really had a consistent run of form in the league, he’ll have 2/3 good games and then roll out a crap performance similar to yesterday’s and then get injured and rinse and repeat. It’s quite a concern with him.

The keeper also kept is in the game.

Any changes will be because of injury and suspension.
Kenny, if fit, and Iwobi I would guess.
I'm not a pickford fan but he kept us in that game, more worrying for me was we were overun in midfield due to gomes, allan and doucoure couldn't cope hope its only a blip with gomes.

Gomes just need to work hard to get his silkiness back. He needs to be consistently effective going forward else him being overran by faster opponent will make him a liability to the team.

No. Allan was the doing the job of 2 men because Gomes was being bypassed and he was giving the ball away constantly in dangerous areas causing us to be out of position and susceptible to their counter. We managed the ball slightlybetter in the 2nd half

Allan was rushing about like a mad man and unfortunately Liverpool's midfield simply played around him.

He did it v West Brom at home, and it cost us in part for their first goal, albeit Mina mainly to do with that.

I think Allan is great but he's not a natural sitter and it showed in the first half today. He was also pretty poor on the ball. Gomes was worse, like, but still, Allan was all over the shop for the first 40 minutes.

Second half he was a lot, lot better.

Our midfield wasn't as good as theirs yesterday and we didn't really play to our strengths enough. The few times we did, and went direct to our front three, we caused them a lot of problems and could - should, really - have had 3 or 4 goals.

He had a poor game. But he went up against a midfield which was simply better than ours in that first half.

Once Carlo calmed them down at HT we looked a lot better all round in that 45-70 min spell.

Salah's goal - yes a bad clearance from Mina but a quality, quality finish that we'd rightly be lauding if it was one of our players - sparked a mad spell in the game where it completely opened up. That suited them more than us.

...yep, for all the stick he gets, Henderson was a particularly difficult opponent for Gomes yesterday. Thought Henderson was very good for them.

Gomes is no more of an athlete than Sigurdsonn nowadays, he runs like he’s underwater. At least Sigurdsonn has quality with the ball at his feet, something Gomes has completely lost somehow

Gomes is more athletic than Gylfi though. He's stronger, more skillful in tight spots.

He hasn't 'completely lost it'. He was fine in his last game, v Palace. Played some great passes.

He wasn't good enough yesterday. A lot of our lads weren't, but somehow, with a huge slice of luck, we got a point.

We're a work in progress.

The main issue in our midfield yesterday was that in the first half we were just diving in all over the place and wanting too long on the ball - all of them.

Second half, Carlo clearly had calmed it down and our midfield got a foothold. Salah's goal sparked that mad 20 minutes at the end.

Henderson is excellent, pains me to say it, like, but he is, in that role in their 4-3-3.

He sets the tempo with the pressing along with Mane and Firmino, with Salah always lingering too. Their FBs then press high and they had Fabinho and then probably the best central midfielder in world football at the moment in there too.

All three of our lads couldn't lay a glove at times, when the game opened up. When we kept it tight for the 25 mins after the break, we had a lot more composure.

Absolutely. He wasn't at his best yesterday, but he was up against a seriously good midfield trio on their side.

If he gets dropped against S'ton, there's no complaints, but just don't get why we always have to signal out individual players.

We're unbeaten, top of the league, and didn't play great yesterday against what is, along with Bayern, one of the best teams in the world.

He wasn't good enough but he hasn't been bad this season at all. He's just not a shiny new toy anymore.

He's been inconsistent the whole time. It isn't injuries. The first year he didn't get hurt after recovering from the initial injury when he joined and played every game up until getting banned against Fulham. He was inconsistent in this run as well.

The trouble really is that his bad games aren't 4 out of 10s they're 1 out of 10s. When his down games are actively harmful it is a more serious problem.

We are where we are.

He's our third best midfielder that is currently fit.

Gbamin's hopeful return can give us other options, as we could move Allan into a more natural box-to-box role if needed.

There's other issues in our side - a lack of depth up top and a goalkeeper that bookended one of the best displays he's put in for us with two of the worst decisions/mistakes I've seen in ages, and that's including his other mistakes this season.
