He has had 1 good game in the 3 yrs he has been here. The rest range from average to villa away diabolical standards. He is a nothing player, he can't tackle and its harder to by pass a 2yr old than Gomes. 1 goal as well means he doesn't have the excuse of being a threat going forward.
He is for me 1 of the worst show ponies ever to wear the shirt

Another player that just doesn't have the dynamism that is required to function effectively in midfield in this league. He would be far better off playing in France or Holland for example.

That's being kind to him and offering an excuse.

You can say what you like about Gomes but for me the game is about tangibles and he has practically none to his name over three years. One goal isn't it? On its own that's absolutely shameful. It's embarrassing. I don't see him contributing much of anything that I can recall after a game, other than negatives in the main. If he picks out a decent forward pass or makes a decent cross now and then, it tends to stand out. He got the assist for Keanes goal away at Wolves and played well against Sheff Utd away earlier in the year, last season. I can remember those.

He isn't offensive, he isn't defensive. He isn't much of anything. A sideways crab merchant.

Unfortunately, the cost of having him in the team outweighs this small benefit a thousand times.

My opinion on him is becoming more and more certain every game.

He doesnt create, he doesnt score, he doesnt make forward runs, he can't tackle, he occasionally picks a good forward pass, he is slow, he loses aerial challenges, he plays mostly square, he struggles to track midfield runs.

He cant play midfield in this league. I hate being so negative, but his skill set suits a slow paced league where his technical skills and ability on both feet can be utilised better.
