Memphis is less than an hour from me.

Specialties are probably BBQ ribs and cole slaw.

Graceland (if you love that kopite Elvis) and Beale Street are probably the biggest tourist draws.

Rendezvous downtown is the most famous rib place in the South U.S. Located down an alley, but good food.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is great and also near downtown.

Bar B Que Shop in mid town is great casual BBQ. Try the BBQ spaghetti.

Dyers on Beale Street has wonderful burgers.

Hueys is downtown and pretty great sandwiches.

Flying Fish if you want American seafood.

Flying Saucer if you want a pub with hundreds of beer and cider on draught.

Ah...Steak n' Shake. One of my former companies were based in Indianapolis...many a late night/early morning in the Steak n' Shake. Those business trips always came down to drinking far too much.
