Bit sick raf..even you can admit it..go on admit it..you had a puke one time in life that resembled it...even in a small wayThat's a new one for me
The first time I visited America it was also for a wedding and also in Tennessee (Bristol). It was for my stepson's wedding (he played in goal for Chattanooga FC too, in their inaugural season) and have since stayed for both a Christmas and a Thanksgiving. Loved the pumpkin pie but found the pecan pie was just like treacle tart with pecans on top.in Tennessee for a wedding, did Chattannooga, leaving Nashville today for Knoxville.
some good eats.

Catfish, with an arsenal of interesting sauces on the table, BBQs of various heats, hot sauce. Good stuff.
Speaking of hot:

Nashville hot chicken is no joke. It's hot but not too bad when you start, but eating one is like facing Rocky in a boxing ring. Each round is tougher than the last... it just keeps punching back. Really good, but even with mac and cheese and slaw to help cool off, still had to bring some back for a later snack.
U! S! A!

Obviously the in-laws were welcoming (and still are) but it's the general friendliness of all people in the south that impressed me so much. We actually went to New Orleans first - the wedding in Bristol was the following week.Actually drank beer at Chattanooga Brewing or whatever adjacent to the stadium. Don't have much to say about the pies... I'm Apple or go home. Not a huge desert guy, I suppose. The South gets a bad rap, but if a first time visitor to the US, at least the locals will treat you well. And feed you well.
I've had three holidays in the south, friendliest people I've ever met.Obviously the in-laws were welcoming (and still are) but it's the general friendliness of all people in the south that impressed me so much. We actually went to New Orleans first - the wedding in Bristol was the following week.
