American Food

Obviously , but Byron and gourmet burger are no cheaper than 5 guys and they are certainly not better.

But each to there own mate.

Yes each to their own but everyone i know who loves burgers rates GBK way head of Five Guys...you're the first person i've come across who thinks the opposite.

Five Guys don't even ask you how you'd like your burger cooked ffs and when you specifically ask if they can cook it medium rare they look at you like you're speaking a foreign language. Madness. It's a case of 'well done' or GTFO.

They are different markets though, Five Guys is fast food and is very 'standard' as far as burgers go whereas GBK they clearly put way more effort into the menu and burgers because it's an actual restaurant rather than fast food joint.

The burgers look like they have been made with some care and effort, the burger to sauce ratio is spot on as is the bun to burger ratio and the buns are also way better than the cheap supermarket style buns they use at Five Guys. As you can see i take this [Poor language removed] serious yo

GBK also have variety of burgers, something which Five Guys severely lacks... but that's fine because Five Guys isn't about doing fancy burgers, it's like in n out burger, simple and to the point fast food which is in the bracket above Burger King and McDonalds.

Also the choice of sauces is hilariously bad, ketchup, mustard or brown sauce, BROWN SAUCE FFS... what kind of wrongun puts Brown Sauce in a burger.

Compare that to all the awesome sauces etc you get at GBK such as the chill mayo, garlic mayo and their ridiculously good BBQ chutney dip...

Whole different level for me, one's gourmet, the others fast food. Bizarrely both cost the same price.

I'll smash both.

Honest Burger rules all though.

True American food to prepare for bowl season. Ah, the magic. I like to brown a little good bulk pork sausage, drain it, and add it in as well.

RoTel Velveeta Dip

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 can (10 oz each) Ro*Tel® Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies, undrained
  • 1 pkg (16 oz each) Velveeta®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine undrained tomatoes and Velveeta in medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until Velveeta is melted completely and mixture is blended, stirring frequently.
  3. Serve warm as a dip with tortilla chips, crackers or cut-up fresh vegetables.
COOK'S TIPS
To make in microwave, combine undrained tomatoes and Velveeta in 1-1/2-quart microwave-safe dish; cover. Microwave on HIGH 5 minutes or just until Velveeta melts, stirring after 3 minutes. Remove from microwave; stir until mixture is blended. CAUTION: Dish will be hot; use hot pads. For a double recipe, microwave on HIGH 8 minutes or until Velveeta melts, stirring after 5 minutes. Drain 1 can of tomatoes if a thicker dip is preferred.
Put it all in a Crock Pot and set it to low. Stir periodically until the cheese melts. Try not to eat it all immediately.

A nice spicy sausage makes this beyond ace

Replace the Velveeta with Philly Cream Cheese and add spicy sausage and you have a top 10 dip of all time.

Made some homemade queso some weeks ago with stuff around the house. Was really fun, but nothing's as easy as the velveeta-rotel-crock pot dip. I know a guy that makes this every Sunday during football season and eats it through the week until it's done. (He is a Cowboys fan.)
