Allardyce has his say on Klaassen’s future

Imagine having a £24m player who has clearly performed so badly in games and training that he hasn't played a league game since September (the month the window closed). Did we even bother scouting him or did we just buy him based on his stats in an inferior league?

At this point the lad just needs to play. It would be my preference that he stays here and we give him games between now and the end of the season but Allardyce isn't going to do that as long as there is a question mark over our premier league safety. Same goes for Sandro Ramirez. I'm so frustrated with how both players have been treated not just under Fat Sam but under David Unsworth as well. In my opinion neither manager had the confidence in their own ability to try and fit these players into a system that worked and who knows how either one might have turned out if the were given a run of 3 games each to impress.

Now we just have to watch the same dross get rolled out, week after week, and get beat and their places are safe. I only hope that the next manager we bring in does not have Unsworth's or Allardyce's attitude towards Tosun or Walcott.

If ever you were looking for a better example of how sam is more (former) English 4th Division than Total Football, this is it.

TBH, the lad is obviously massively off the pace (which was kinda expected)... however he cant be worse the Scheiderat right now, and might offer something more then 2 DM's against every team in the league.

I dislike MS that much I would put Klassen in the team above him....

El Huge One is just protecting his "NEVER RELEGATED" league title he proudly wears on his CV, because thats what we aim for now. He wont take a risk....

Think he'd be great in a side that's afforded a bit more space in the oppo half, like at Ajax. He gets too crowded out in the Prem, so he'll need to adapt if he's to make it in this country.

..there’s no doubt the lad can play, he’s a footballer brought up through the ranks at Ajax. The problem is he’s not the type of midfielder we needed, he’s similar to others we’d already acquired. Where we needed pace, power and athleticism we brought in another who didn’t offer that.

Amazing that football people oversaw the summer transfer business.
Easy to say that with hindsight Eggs.

At the time he was bought, we were in the EL qualifying rounds, we needed depth and Ajax's captain for under £25m was seen as very decent business.

No-one expected Morgan Schneiderlin to forget how to play football, or that we wouldn't replace Lukaku with some sort of striker.

Sigurdsson is a LM in my opinion- one i'd imagine that is shared by Koeman and Clement last season at Swansea. Yes he drifts inside but a major attribute is his crossing. Can't do that from the middle of the pitch.

Throw in Rooney and really, at the time we signed Klaassen, we had 2 options for playing behind a striker (that, again, never materialised).

Going back to your point: we needed a Klaassen. Of course, we needed him to settle in better than he has. But we needed him, a striker and a right winger. We needed Sig.

In the end we got all of them apart from the most important. And that impacted upon everything.

swansea is a likely destination at a guess, theyve just loaned out roque mesa and creatively sanches isnt turning up
