ALLARDYCE - Any positives

This is the best team he’s ever managed or will manage. Bar his short stint as England boss this is the pinnacle of his career. So he may well surprise us. I think he will. I’d say top 7 is still on and if he does that surely he stays on another season. Certainly he got to the players heads yesterday. He’s also a hands on manager which is very far removed from the last 2 clowns we had in here. I seriously doubt if he will tolerate the likes of Schneiderlin or mirallas.

Good luck Sam prove the doubters who turn their noses up at you wrong.

Your optimism is frightening.

Bollocks mate, it's a good job worth 6.5m per year to take a team in 13th and 2 points off 9th place up to tenth?

If we must have this cretin at the club, why don't we actually set and demand a target befitting the salary he is being paid - seriously looking at some comments when we appointed him, people acted like 17th would be an achievement and he should be given plaudits if he kept us up.

Set him the goal of overtaking Burnley and Watford at least if your optimistic about him.

When Martinez and/or Koeman were appointed, were you also demanding these things?

Not my first choice but I acept he is now our manager. Hope he can realise what he has stepped into and take this club forward and further than he has with any other club he managed. The chance is there for him to grasp and show the football world that he is not just a rescue specialist.

Actually i kind of agree with K T R here
No we weren't demanding those things with the last two managers on appointment but the bitter experience of their consecutive tenures has highlighted just How important those things are .....right now

lets be real here . every club he has been at the fans have been happy with what he did for them.
Bolton fans love him , Newcastle fans say he is the best they have had since keegan.
palace west ham and sunderland fans say they wouldn't be prem clubs without him and that he turned bad players into a decent team that ground out results. ive also heard that when he left the players turned crap again.

then look at the players themselves. the better players were given back the belief that they can perform , he gave average players the belief that they can compete and aging players that they could still do a job.

many an ex player say they loved playing for him and I cant think of one who have a bad word to say about him.

he is clearly a motivator and good at man management.

this is possibly his last job in football and he will have a point to prove , he will give it his all. he has taking everton to an fa cup final written all over him imo. vault me on it.

He can defend. Incidentally, I was talking about him to a Sheffield Wednesday fan on Tumblr the other day and she said we were lucky and that she wished he'd manage them.

I believe he’s a top manager and not a fraud - in footballing terms :) - like the last two clearly were.

I'm actually with you on this one, apart from I do not agree Koeman was a fraud, I just believe he got complacent and did not really care enough. But only a complete idiot is not aware that things can go badly wrong in a split second.

His positives as I have written before, are that he has managed at every level, knows the game inside out and appears from the outside to be a very decent man manager.

I am hopeful that all of the snides in our squad who have been tossing it off for so long, will either IMO be rejuvenated or shown the door.

The thing for me is He really doesn't have that much to do. Organise the defence and get a striker and a couple of others. That's about it, for this season. The foundations are already here. Great youth set up, with a stream of good young players. Some very good players he will like to work with.

Can’t imagine what he will do to the likes of Schneiderlin and Mirallas. They wont last 5 minutes. Surely he’ll tell them to do one.

Looking at the first XI last night, it is as clear as day that we are nowhere near enough strong enough to compete for Europe.

I appreciate that might change a bit when Bolasie, Coleman and Barkley return, but we now seem to have so much dead wood it is unreal.

Williams and Jags both need replacing, we also need a left back to rotate and eventually replace Baines. Martina should be nothing more than back up IMO.

We have one of the weakest strike forces in the division with just DCL and Niasse so I am hoping he can get a stint out of Sandro, though I expect him to move on in January as he has been linked to Valencia already.

Klaassen will surely move on in January and hopefully Mirallas too. January onwards last year, everybody was raving how good Schneiderlin was, but if he is not up for the fight then BFS will surely let him go too.

Interesting times ahead.
