Aiden McGeady: The Answer to all of our problems

He isn't awful at defending. Him putting a shift in and helping out his full back is one of his strengths. Just watch the Wolfsburg game again.

Correct. One that stands out is a WC qualifier in Russia a couple of years ago where he put in an outstanding defensive performance as did the rest of his team mates.

He simply has not done as well as I expected or hoped.
He works harder on the defensive side of his game that I thought he would and maybe that has lessened his ability to attack, but in game that he has played he has rarely looked like the threatening pacy ,tricky winger we thought we were getting.
I thought he was going to do what Lennon has been doing , working hard defensively but also bringing pace to our attack.

AIDS has got plenty of flaws but that isn't one of them.

I would go as far as saying his passing isnt great but his defending is good. Goes to show how strange football is, we all watch the same player but think differently about what he is good/bad at.

McGeady is alright in my opinion. He should never be a regular starter but could be a useful option off the bench. Needs to get a few appearances between now and end of season. Better than Atsu and on a par with Lennon.
