Even we have been roughly around 13th the last few years (purely on-field performance pre any points deductions) you’d think that making progress even in an 18 month spell from 13th upwards wouldn’t have been too hard.

Clearly this has proven harder than we realised, so thanks for replacing Dyche (which was needed at the time) but you’re not the man to take us forward as there has been no progress and it looks as though you don’t work particularly well with the recruitment team.
We needed something like seven points, as it turned out, after we beat Chelsea to make Europe. From seven matches. We got three.

Since then we have heard Moyes call out the owners to show their ambition and told the fans that he doesn't understand their frustration at missing out on Europe, while the club that sacked him, Sunderland, leapfrogged us into not only the Conference League, but into the Europa League.

A newly-promoted club.

And we're told it's a multi-window plan to stabilise us...when we didn't bother using the January window...

Nah, sorry. Anyone falling for this is wilfully stupid.

True however what I will say is that we have had so many managers in recent years and it’s the same stinking culture and messaging. Nothing changes in that respect . Something is fundamentally wrong there.
We've employed poor managers or managers who were the wrong fit instead of having a playing structure in place and employing a manager who plays to that playing structure. We've basically just made up our strategy on the fly over the last 10 or 15 years employing managers either on reputation or in desperation as panic sets in. We're crying out for a long-term vision and employing a manager who embraces that vision and works in harmony with our recruitment team. Moyes is neither long-term nor working in harmony with our recruitment team so is completely the wrong fit and is only in place due to desperation of how bad things ended under Dyche. We need a board like Bournemouth who sacked O'Neil despite him doing a good job as they recognised Iraola would take them to a higher level. Sadly our board don't seem to be visionaries

Chance has gone this season.

There’s absolutely no way all of Chelsea Liverpool Spurs Newcastle and Forest are all completely hopeless next season.

Arsenal City and United will be top 3. Alonso will improve Chelsea (hard not to) Spurs can’t be worse, Villa will still be there. There’ll be a load of traffic to wade through to try and get Europe next season whereas it was on a literal plate this season and we actively avoided
9 points from the last 30.

"Moyes always finishes seasons strong," ... apparently....

Feel like we get constant gaslighting from the manager. We don't have a God given right to win trophies but we deserve better from the manager and these players

The argument to keep him one more year then get rid is absolutely ridiculous to me. None of our rivals would even consider it as a sensible plan. You just can't back a manager when you have already decided to get rid of them in 12 months. You are setting the next manager up to fail, and if someone is only good enough for the next season then why are you keeping them in the first place.
