He did the job he was brought in to do and we thank him for that, but the team is not progressing and is on the verge on regression

There is no logical argument to keep him moving forward unless the club have completely given up achieving anything more than staying up.

Stability is a nonsense argument. It's only used to try and make their own performance look good. No ambitious or even competent team let's a manager go into their last season, backs them in the summer window, even though they are going to replace them in 12 months. It's an absurd thing to even consider doing.

Even if the ambition is just staying up he has to go. He does not guarantee that.

Sunderland: scabbed a play off game win this time last season - now they go through to the EL and we're 13th with a 'steady as you go' approach.

The club is pitiful. Utterly pitiful.

It has nothing going for it other than a stadium. The rest should be thrown in a skip.

Chance has gone this season.

There’s absolutely no way all of Chelsea Liverpool Spurs Newcastle and Forest are all completely hopeless next season.

Arsenal City and United will be top 3. Alonso will improve Chelsea (hard not to) Spurs can’t be worse, Villa will still be there. There’ll be a load of traffic to wade through to try and get Europe next season whereas it was on a literal plate this season and we actively avoided it.

United aren’t nailed on for anything yet. The manager decision matters and Carrick won’t be good enough.

I say in but only because it is too easy to end up where West Ham are now. The core of this team have been relegated at least once and been in several relagation fights at Everton.

The foundations of the club need to be sorted this summer and them move him on at the end of his contract. If they let him sign the likes of Soucek this summer then just give up and not bother anymore.

What additional foundations is he going to build next summer, over what he has done now?

Should have went after the wolves defeat. Dreadful, boring and negative.
100%

People laughed at the time but the disrespect he showed with his team selection that night showed he wasn't the right person to be our manager moving forward.

I would have sacked him immediately after that game. It would have been the right decision and we'd not be in this situation now with him entering a final year of a contract, yet the club want to back him in the market.
