the ambition of this club should be competing for European places at the very least. We’ve seen a newly promoted side qualify for the europa league.

There has to be a huge change in culture at the club and the first move should be giving the dinosaur his p45.

We need a progressive new manager in who wants to play front foot, attacking football instead of these dinosaur, safety-first has beens we’ve been employing over the last decade.

How can the owners trust a man who has wasted tens of millions on players who get no game time?

And what right minded fan would back a manager who wants the likes of stones, soucek and trippier to have us languishing around the relegation zone again.

The nothingness culture has to change from top to bottom. It’s time Moyes was thanked and told to leave.

In the short term yes, the ambition of the club should be to win the league. That’s what all our historical peers consider their ambition. Modern Everton would like all fans to consider that competing for Europe is a great achievement rather than just the first step on a return to the top.

By the way: what is it people think we should "thank Moyes and shake his hand" for if he is moved on?

Mystified about that.

Thanks for winning a few games in half a season when there were 3 teams below us who refused to win any of their own games and finishing on 48 points?
Thanks for getting 1 point more this season than Dyche did in his only full season in charge?
Thanks for wasting £110M on players he wouldn't play?
Thanks for winning 6 home games at a new stadium and turning it into a torture chamber?
Thanks for playing the worst band of football in the PL?
Thanks for re-signing players like Keane and Tarkowski and soon Mykolenko?
Thanks for telling reporters he disagrees fans have a right be downcast about the collapse this season?

There is nothing to be thanking Moyes for. He should be chased out of this club with nothing more than his huge pay off.

The ambition and what supporters accept are quite worrying. When the possibility of being in Europe came about, I think a number of supporters were uncomfortable with it and were getting a bit of imposter syndrome. As it went on I think we grew into it as a fanbase but there was still an element of "we're not quite ready".

I want to see my team going all out to be the best they can be and would like to see the standard we expect much higher.

If the general consensus is Moyes to be relieved, we all have to be prepared for the change and not yearn for him to come back because he knows the club and makes us feel safe. When he left last time, we knew he took us as far as he could and it took fans time to warm to Martinez. We played WBA in his second game of the season and it was the first time we'd seen a new playing style, and there was mass levels of frustration that day because we drew 0-0.

Moyes makes us feel safe because he he gives us that confidence of being ok but we will only exist under Moyes.

I think Moyes considers us and West Ham to be a similar level of club which has a ceiling just outside the elite and therefore he did an amazing job to get us there and what more could be expected.

He has never recognised that we were the elite, the founders of the game, multiple league titile winners, school of science, holy trinity, Dixie Dean, Alan Ball, Brian Labone, Neville Southall.

Don’t care how long ago it was, that is our standard, not all these managers absolutely bewildered as to why Everton fans are complaining at being in the top half.

It runs much deeper than Moyes though. The club abandoned success for stability and risk for survival a long time ago. I reckon TFG have been well briefed on what 'really' matters to Evertonians:
People's club, 'we go the game'(cue price increases) and sentimentality.
