Not really. A good retreat should harass and bloody the nose of those on the offensive. This is falling back in a semblance of some order.

This is the face of a broken man. A broken man that needs to be replaced asap, both for the benefit of the world and the man himself. That would be a withdraw. Semantics some may say, but a tactical retreat should be orderly, maintain integrity of the line (make forces secure) and deception.

To make sure you're not overrun the opposition have to be wary of a counter-attack even if it's feigned or limited in exposure.

Personally, I don't think we can call the fall back to HKIA the most orderly of retreats or withdrawls.

Both you and I said this all along, from a base point of view; what I hadn’t realised was that it also housed a great many ISIS prisoners who were then promptly released, which makes the decision even more absurd….
