Correct, but there was no need to actually remove the few troops that were still in Afghanistan. The ANA were doing all the heavy lifting and suffering any casualties.…

Its disgusting that they've let the Taliban take over again. Afghanistan had moved forward massively over the last 20 years. Now its straight back to the 90's..

Whilst in Kabul there was some freedoms for women etc apparently in a lot of cities the warlords just did what they want.

Exactly. They have circa 50-75k stationed in Korea, don’t think the north plan on invading anytime soon. So between 2.5-5k in Afghanistan is a wise investment if you ask me.

No, the reason was because Afghan forces were backed with us military planning and air support. Take all that away and you have what’s happening right now.

It was a brilliant investment in terms of having strategic military bases central to Iran, China and Russian satellites. And that’s before anyone talks about minerals….
