Getting mad at Biden instead of the people who sent them there in the first place is kinda dumb. Its a pretty weird logic to think you have to stay involved in a war forever because some of your soldiers died.

Its been a pointless war, the US had to pull out eventually. Why stay there ? Nothing has improved has it. If they had stayed for another year do you think the Afghan forces would have suddenly becoming a massive deterrent to the Taliban ? Better to get out and stay out, and learn from it. The learning bit won't happen though.

apart from stopping mass terror attacks in the west?

With that many people on the apron, the plane would struggle to take off and that's if it is fuelled and ready etc. The vacuum without the ANA/Police is worrying.

Seen them videos just now of people on the sides of the C17s. Not good for them or the people on the plane… absolutely disgusted how we have sold them down the river. We knew after 6 months of invading the place we’d likely have to stay as an occupying force. To sell them our lifestyle, our freedoms and then just take it away at the drop of a hat is deplorable.

Please, you're better than that.

Look at the usual people on here are blaming Biden for this, despite in one case admitting he knows the timeline and who signed the treaty ordering it to happen. He is still blaming Biden today.

If a Labour PM was in power now, everyone on here knows exactly how this would be being spun on here by those people and in the national media.

If Corbyn was that PM, the spinning would be a thousand times worse.

You could say this was to some extent true as of 2001 to 2010*. After that, the preparation for terror by some of these organisations moved to other nations.

Since then, the rationale for being involved in Afghanistan has been about attempting to build a stable state, but the process has been naive if not feeble.

There's people on here who are blaming Biden, which is like blaming the French for not pushing on the Saar offensive in WWII while ignoring appeasement.

Biden and Johnson's response hasn't been great, yet let's look a little further down the road.

It's definitely a worry how organised the Taliban look this time.

They were clearly a bit of a mess before but if they now build infrastructure like ISIS then who knows how far it will go.

Great example of this was a report in the Mail about dozy Boris being awol as this all unfolded. He was at that stupid Olympics party thing. They reported on it but it was done in a ‘good old Boris he’s always making daft gaffs isn’t he’ type of way. If it was Corbyn it would be pictures of him with Hamas thus making the connection that he has been conspiring with the Taliban.

TBF this is one of those things when you can overstate organisation - this could easily just be a case of them taking one or two cities and then telling people to advance until they met resistance. They’ve not encountered any.
