Jo never has and never will be those players. Of course we'd all love a new incarnation of one or more of them but we have what we have right now.

Jo was a loan signing to help us get through the season. He isn't great but has his moments and was probably the best we could of got.

Maybe next year we can buy a proper striker.

Hmm, what are those moments exactly?

I mean this guy is an £18m player. He scored goals for fun in Moscow. Not really living up to that bill is he?

Recovering from a serious injury, building his fitness, naturally lazy anyway.

Quality player though, he'll be back.

unfortunately i think your hopes misplaced...Yak is a shadow of himself and just because your recovering from an injury doesnt mean you cant run anymore. he looks like he should have a walking frame in front of him when he's pretending to chase a ball. dont know what has happened to the guy but he's done in my opinion...a wage bill we could do without...worst 20 mins from a sub,ah forget it.
much rather think about the great result and the good performances
a really tough fixture and pitch so fair play (y)(y)(y)(y)

End Product? Scoring goals mate. That's what a striker does, and he doesn't score goals.

Jo never has and never will be those players.

Laughing here lads.

7 goals in 12 last season. Not sure on this year but certainly not a bad return. Add to that 30 in 53 for CSKA, and 4 in 3 for Brazil.

He can score goals, thats why Moyes wanted him when he was at CSKA, and thats why Man City paid £18m for him.

Will be interesting to see how he does once we get it together.

Hmm, shall we dig up the post when you called him a clown, and can we get rid of him.

I want to like him I really do. He's an enigma, and one I just can't work out.

I would have been referring to the size of his feet. Massive.

I'm the same, its hard to judge him right now. I certainly wouldn't describe him as a striker who wont get you goals though....

Well that's what I mean he has been proven, but you look at him now and can you see goals in him? He hardly moves, he jogs at his quickest.

He also played in an outstanding team though to be fair, in a league I know little about.
He must have something. Just a case of finding where he has stored it.

For me, he is lacking strength, and ball control.
His shots are also fairly weak, and he has little presence. Perhaps his best role isn't as a striker.
Who knows?
We could say the same about many this year, but we know these guys have it in the locker somewhere.

Yakubu?

Or Jo (y)

I thought Jo put a good shift in tonight to be fair.

It'll be interesting to see how he performs once we get our act together. He has something...

And the clown comment was made after one of Jo's trade mark dives - he needs to cut that out of his game.

But as I say, given his record, I don't think you can rule goals out of him.

No, but despite his record can you see him scoring many goals this season?

He did put in a good shift, but I want goals - that's what they are paid to do. I think he's just out of form - hopefully he will get it back.

I wonder though how many people would be as accommodating had we spent £18m on him.

It depends really - right now its hard to see anyone at the club scoring many goals...

He scored 7 in 12 last season though, so why not?

He had a decent enough strike which forced their keeper into a great save, got an assist and as you say, put in a shift. As a lone striker today I thought he was great.

But he can't be compared to some of the great players that Ghost mentioned, he never will be in their league.

As i said, he has his moments where he does look good, but they are outweighed so far by the moments where he looks pathetic.

Just don't think he is ever gonna get close to his scoring record in Russia here.

Worth £18m?
