And through, Bate lost. Hibbert exceptional, especially in light of Distin going off. Back line of Coleman Hibbert Duffy Baines was not what anyone forsaw us ending with. Tony Hibbert, Everton Colossus!

Excellent team performance, everyone did their job and did it well. Looked like they tried to get at Coleman with pace but he came through it really well. Duffy also very impressive considering the conditions.

Well done Blues.

Thats 2 good showings from Hibbo at cd in Europe, we've been wasting him on the right all this time!

Decent enough performance i guess, done what we had to do to win. Pienarr might of worked his ass off in the middle and credit to him for that but what made him play some of those awful attempts at long balls i dont know.

Again it was a better performance with the majority of players playing in positions they are good at and comfortable with. Funny that.

Baxter, Coleman and Duffy all done well, good on them.

Would be interesting to see the stats and just how often we gave the ball away needlessly second half, we just can't keep posession, it really is sad to watch at times.

Glad that game is over. The way the second half was going we would have probably picked up more injuries than goals if it had carried on any longer.

Lads looked chuffed on the pitch at FT. Impressed with Coleman after what happened in Portugal, made some great tackles. Stevie P was great also, and Tim C had a decent game too. Great goal by Billy. All in all a pretty successful night.

Gotta be the reserve side vs. Bate you would think..

Good result, shocking game. Pienaar really is outstanding. Big games from the youngsters, Duffy in particular. Fallaini was excellent too. Fine goal as well. Happy days!

My Ratings:

Howard
Steady night, not much to do.

Coleman
Mighty impressed, looks like he has the makings of being a great right back for Everton.

Hibbert
Did very well, although sometimes it looked like he was flying by the seat of his pants, and against better option may not have done as well, pleased nonetheless.

Distin
Not enough time. Everton Injury No. 345 of 2009.

Duffy
Shaky start, but settled down well - could be one for the future.

Baines
Did well again, but had very little support from Billy

Gosling
Not enough time. Everton Injury No. 344 of 2009.

Baxter
Solid performance, great defensive clearance, and was unlucky to be booked for what was a perfectly good goal
Fellaini
Great performance, starting to show why we paid money for him.

Cahill
Better from him, more application - still moaning like a porn star though whenever he gets knocked down. But pleased with his performance.

Pienaar
Sign him up now. That is all you really need to know, apart from his ability is immense - love him.

Billy
A little bit lazy. Nice goal, but didn't really help Baines and offered very little as an outlet.

Jo
Tried hard, good setup - but he's just not good enough. He has no stickability with the ball, and although he may well be a good linkup, he has very little end product. Although he was unlucky with a strike on goal - but we need more from him. Oh and Everton Injury no. 346 of 2009.

Yak
What has happened to this guy? I know people say he's not match fit, but I have to question how fit he is? Needs to score a goal or two to regain that spark.
