Ademola Lookman

OK...Why should he have played more?

There is a player in there but he needs to take whatever chances come his way more. A half decent showing in a derby match (that we lost) and a good showing against the 7th best team in Cyprus is hardly beating down the first team door. Of course it was him who asked to be loaned out too.

Because Yannick Bolasie is a pile of dung mate.

That doesn't make Lookman any more deserving!

I like the kids potential don't get me wrong but thus far and certainly at that point he had done nothing to warrant selection either. Would have been nice to see him get more of a go but seriously now, what has he done to earn it?

He asked to be loaned to leipzig instead of Derby. If he knew he would get playing time here he wouldnt have needed to be loaned out

And who the hell is he to expect playing time at a club like ours?

Nobody gets an automatic position, perhaps he should have played better in the limited chances he got?

Nothing wrong with asking to go on loan by the way but no manager refuses to play a player for a laugh. If he was showing enough in training etc then he may have played, the other young players around the squad got game time.

Because I believe if he has any grievances about how he was treated last year by Everton, they are legitimate. He should have played more.

That doesn't answer the question. Why should he have played more? Because Bolasie is not a proper answer.

That's not true, plenty got picked no matter how bad they were

Nobody SHOULD get an automatic position was what I meant.

However, yeah there were many bad showings last season, and he still couldn't get much game time. How bad must he have been in training?

The whole thing around him is doing my head in. He is a promising player, hopefully with a bright future playing for us, I too would have liked to have seen him playing a bit more but he has not really shone for us in what time he has got (understandable) and he still has lots to prove.

But yeah just chuck him in coz he is fast and young and got to be better than Bolasie.

We are either building him up to fail here (you know, once its shown he is not quite at Pele's level just yet) or building him up to be massively disappointed when he jibs us off. I find it all a bit mad.

Why isn't it? After mirallas basically gave up our options out on the left flank consisted of Sigurdsson, Bolasie and Lookman. Siggy was usually played there, and was ineffective, until Bolasie gained full fitness and then he became virtually an undisputed starter despite the fact his form was awful.

Lookman played pretty well in some of the games for the first team, he played well whenever called upon for the u23s. His form for RBL suggests he could have translated that for Everton too but was never given a prolonged opportunity.

I suspect the managers we had over the course of the season didn't want to play a left side consisting of Martina and Lookman but when our safety was guaranteed, he should have been given game time.

As it were, the loan has ultimately proved beneficial for him. It is a shame that it is looking like it won't be beneficial for Everton, unless we get an above market transfer fee for him.

He doesn't have to be Pele, preki would be an improvement on bolasie

Well Bolasie only got back to full fitness once Lookman had gone on loan.

When did he play pretty well? Against Liverpool (the only derby we lost last season...) and a dead rubber against a Cypriot team. And yeah he did play well in them as well to be fair. Our safety was guaranteed after Lookman had asked to go out on loan. We cant play him if he wasn't there (by his choice..)

He actually didn't play much for Liepzig. A couple of starts and a bunch of substitute appearances. He probably would have got that here had he stayed.

It sounds like I am knocking him and I really am not. As I said he has loads of potential, but I am still not seeing how he deserved to play more.

If he goes it will all be down to him, nobody else. That's his decision to make I suppose. If he isn't up for fighting for a place in the team then sod him.

Got a bad feeling he's off big mistake in my view. Would leave us with little depth and he will become an England starter in a few years.
