Lookman will stay.
  • RB Leipzig won't pay anywhere near what it would take to tempt us.
  • We're letting Yannick Bolasie go and have already let Kevin Mirallas go.
  • Silva and Brands will want to make it clear to the squad that no player can run rough shot over the club.
  • The transfer window is shut and to let him go too would leave us very short in attack.
  • There's still the hope that he could be convinced to turn his mentality around.
He'll stay until January, play a bit in the meantime and then we'll sell him if someone comes in for him again. Then we'll buy a replacement in the open window.

He's been at Everton a while and has played in Germany for half a season so I reckon he's probably got a pretty decent grip on what he feels is his better or preferred option. Wanting to play first team football strikes me as a very understandable attitude and doesn't strike me as simple impatience. He's at a stage now where he'll only benefit from regular first team action - not the odd sub appearance and a run out in the Carabao Cup.

If we can get close to the asking price and the manager considers him surplus then it's a pretty good deal for all parties.

I think that the grass is greener but my point was that it is likely to be greener as he was playing and being successful. He simply has not been given a run of games to prove himself. Not everyone does a Richarlison. The state of us last season he should have been utilised more before he was loaned out.

Maybe but RB Leipzig play their EL play off tonight so they might just be waiting to see if they qualify before confirming a bid... Guess we'll know more tomorrow...
