2025/26 Adam Aznou

Yeah, I appreciate that, but, against Roma, in what was a friendly, he just looked so much weaker physically than all the other players. He's obviously got pace, and we desperately need that, but he looks to be a long way from being robust enough for the prem.
I hear what you're saying but Mykolenko isn't offering much himself so it's worth trying out Aznou especially as he's better going forward and we need to win our home games against the lesser teams in the league like Fulham

Feels like once Moyes goes we get a O'Brien style resurgence of a player.
We will see a few of these imo.

Moyes has used the least amount of players of any team in the league, and a bunch of those have had a nominal amount of minutes.

Next manager will not be so scared to play young players and we'll see a lot more from our development prospects.

Him and Barry are definitely not Moyes signings.

….why would that be? From what I know, Moyes is an integral part of recruitment. He should be blamed where blame is due.

The reason Aznou isn’t involved is because he’s been poor. The reason Barry isn’t a regular is because he’s been poor. It’s not rocket science.

To be fair this is definitely not something to just be assumed.

It happens all the time that a manager doesn't fancy a player, a new manager comes in and plays them, and they turn out to be great. Even players that original manager approved the signing of.

…I’m not assuming Aznou has been poor, I’ve watched him (just re-run the U21 game at Bradford). Moyes does endorse all signings.

Aznou and Barry play in positions where there’s little ahead of them, Moyes will want them to be effective, I’m sure about that.

I just don't think one game is enough to judge that, let alone one fitness game for the U21s.

I think a lot of managers would play Aznou currently (not necessarily as a starter) and he'd be fine if a bit defensively suspect. Moyes was never ever going to play a teenage attacking fullback who's played very little senior football. I'm not saying this as a dig on Moyes, I just wonder what on earth the recruitment process was here. Who was promising this kid minutes or thinking he'd be a utilised part of the squad?

I've seen him twice for the U21s now and he looks like he has talent, but it's also been pretty stark just how far off he looks physically. Looks like a child playing a man's game. Also struggled defensively and his body language hasn't looked great if I'm honest.

It's 2 appearances, granted, but there's just no way on earth you could justify giving him minutes in the first team based on that. You could argue he looked the least ready of any player on the pitch.

Yeah, I see that, but, I just don't think Moyes would even think about starting him at the moment. I dont agree with a lot of Moyes' decisions, but, I would understand his reluctance to play Aznou. Agree with you on Mykolenko BTW.

I’d quite like Moyes to be effective at the moment mate.
