2025/26 Adam Aznou

You know the lad better than me mate, I only know about 15mins of him.
As long as he's with us and he shows a good attitude than I'll back him, but say he does push for a move that would still be 3 clubs whichever way you look at it. Is that Attitude or Ability..

At his age he should know he has to fight for a place.
Could hardly blame him if he ends up agitating for a move this summer tbh.

We definitely told him he would be playing, at least as 2nd choice.

So the argument is: we are already making a mess of the transfers we made and the development of young players, so why would we try and do anything positive with someone lower down the pecking otder? AND SOMEHOW WE ARE OKAY WITH THIS AND MOYES GETS A PASS?🤣
I think if you read the remainder of the thread, I’m not giving him a pass

What happens in practice is PURE SPECULATION on all our parts...only thing we know for sure is they dont do very well at practicing defending corners or envision a scenario without Beto or Barry up front.
With that being said we all saw Rohl play very well against Villa...he has since disappeared. We all saw Aznou play well and offer something different against Sunderland. Since then he doesnt even make the bench.
Those are facts. Now we can SPECULATE that all the young kids have " bad attitudes"...probalbly true in Moyes' eyes...hence ihs love for older players with less flair. Thing is, young players are the future of the EPL, not old Davey or Soucek or McGinn, so maybe instead of slagging off all our young players, maybe we should replace old man Moyes with someone who is willing to try and communicate effectively with younger players?

If he is choosing to leave 2 of the biggest clubs in Europe then that's a concern about him isn't it?
How exactly would that be about him as the OP suggested apart from perhaps being impatient to develop, he wanted to play & get paid

How patient do you think he is now where he never plays despite getting paid

That’s a pretty antiquated POV tbf - the implication is that he isn’t playing because he isn’t fighting whereas the one time he plays, he actually makes an impact

There is nothing normal about how he has been managed by a club that spent money to bring him and presumably gave him assurances he’d get a chance to show his quality

Moreover, you’re attempting to craft a narrative of him being surplus to needs by assuming he was not prioritized at his prior two clubs which is patently false. If he isn’t playing, its because of him is your POV - what if it isn’t him and instead the coach where it wouldn’t be the 1st time young players were marginalized

Part of me hopes that we are being shrewd and identifying younger players who we think have talent but aren't quite ready and allowing them time to bed in and work on aspects of their game. It could leave us really strong in a few years time.

But, given the way that almost none of the signings we have made in the summer or winter have been used (despite very obvious opportunities to do so) just makes me think there's a disconnect between Moyes and the rest of the leadership about what the strategy is.

We risk going into next season with a core of aging players (between Keane, Tarkowski and Gueye it's 102 years) and a raft of expensive younger players who have been given no development opportunity whose value has dropped from, what has been in some instances, quite hefty fees.
"just makes me think there's a disconnect between Moyes and the rest of the leadership about what the strategy is".

100% THIS

You don't spend £42m on a player that "isn't quite ready" who also played almost a full season at the same level he's currently "not ready for"? . And, in what world, how does not playing them at all help increase that value??

I expect Bayern probably said the same kind of thing to him, you always have to sell yourself as the best option for the player.
Like I said though, I haven't got a clue on the whole situation, or even the level of his ability.. A little first team cameo, and a grumpy u21 game is all I have seen of the lad.

Antiquated POV
Sorry mate but I really have not got a clue what you are going on about.

Regarding his time at Everton neither of us know anymore about him than the other, you have obviously followed him before now, so like I said you know more about him than me.

Didn't this whole thing start because I said he is 1 player bar KDH we wouldn't lose money on ?

Bayern didn't fight to keep him, and we are sticking 2 Rb's that wont get on the field in the squad over him. Something a bit fishy there.
