Could hardly blame him if he ends up agitating for a move this summer tbh.You know the lad better than me mate, I only know about 15mins of him.
As long as he's with us and he shows a good attitude than I'll back him, but say he does push for a move that would still be 3 clubs whichever way you look at it. Is that Attitude or Ability..
At his age he should know he has to fight for a place.
I think if you read the remainder of the thread, I’m not giving him a passSo the argument is: we are already making a mess of the transfers we made and the development of young players, so why would we try and do anything positive with someone lower down the pecking otder? AND SOMEHOW WE ARE OKAY WITH THIS AND MOYES GETS A PASS?![]()
You are probably correct, I apologize.I think if you read the remainder of the thread, I’m not giving him a pass
How exactly would that be about him as the OP suggested apart from perhaps being impatient to develop, he wanted to play & get paidIf he is choosing to leave 2 of the biggest clubs in Europe then that's a concern about him isn't it?
That’s a pretty antiquated POV tbf - the implication is that he isn’t playing because he isn’t fighting whereas the one time he plays, he actually makes an impactYou know the lad better than me mate, I only know about 15mins of him.

"just makes me think there's a disconnect between Moyes and the rest of the leadership about what the strategy is".Part of me hopes that we are being shrewd and identifying younger players who we think have talent but aren't quite ready and allowing them time to bed in and work on aspects of their game. It could leave us really strong in a few years time.
But, given the way that almost none of the signings we have made in the summer or winter have been used (despite very obvious opportunities to do so) just makes me think there's a disconnect between Moyes and the rest of the leadership about what the strategy is.
We risk going into next season with a core of aging players (between Keane, Tarkowski and Gueye it's 102 years) and a raft of expensive younger players who have been given no development opportunity whose value has dropped from, what has been in some instances, quite hefty fees.
No need to apologize, but thanks. You are probably correct, I apologize.
You don't spend £42m on a player that "isn't quite ready" who also played almost a full season at the same level he's currently "not ready for"? . And, in what world, how does not playing them at all help increase that value??Part of me hopes that we are being shrewd and identifying younger players who we think have talent but aren't quite ready and allowing them time to bed in and work on aspects of their game. It could leave us really strong in a few years time.
I expect Bayern probably said the same kind of thing to him, you always have to sell yourself as the best option for the player.Could hardly blame him if he ends up agitating for a move this summer tbh.
We definitely told him he would be playing, at least as 2nd choice.
Antiquated POVThat’s a pretty antiquated POV tbf - the implication is that he isn’t playing because he isn’t fighting whereas the one time he plays, he actually makes an impact
There is nothing normal about how he has been managed by a club that spent money to bring him and presumably gave him assurances he’d get a chance to show his quality
Moreover, you’re attempting to craft a narrative of him being surplus to needs by assuming he was not prioritized at his prior two clubs which is patently false. If he isn’t playing, its because of him is your POV - what if it isn’t him and instead the coach where it wouldn’t be the 1st time young players were marginalized
You answered your own question. How exactly would that be about him as the OP suggested apart from perhaps being impatient to develop, he wanted to play & get paid
How patient do you think he is now where he never plays despite getting paid
