2025/26 Adam Aznou

I guess I'm the only one who sorta has a problem with him being in Barcelona the same day as an Everton match.

I guess if he was told he's off no matter what and he can do what he wants, that's one thing. Otherwise, not a great look.
Im certainly puzzled by it. If they’re told they’re not in the squad, is that akin to having the day off?
Obviously, when your team are playing its not unreasonable to show a bit of camaraderie/ support and show up for them, but this was in London on a Sunday so not sure what the travel arrangements were, or if Monday was a day off.
If he trained on Sat and was told he wasn’t in the squad / didn't need to travel, can’t really begrudge him flying to Spain to catch up with his mate.
If there was any sort of expectation he should be there, then that’s a different matter, but there will have been other 1st squad members who didn't travel either i’d have thought….
Given he’s not had a sniff of playing since Sunderland (iirc) and his not so cryptic activity on social media, its quite easy to jump to the conclusion its the manifestation of an ongoing falling out over playing time etc, but ultimately who knows.
Might have had the full blessing to go on a(nother) day he was deemed surplus to requirements, or might have said to Moyessniff it yer dinosaur, I’m offski to watch actual footy with me mate Yamal who you probably wouldn’t play either

If hes not involved in the match day squad why can't he do what he wants?

As long as he turns up for training, his off days are his to do as he pleases like any job.

Knowing us he moves on to another club and develops into the new Ashraf Hakimi.

Clearly Moyes doesn’t fancy him and I don’t know if it’s his attitude or Moyes just doesn’t trust young players I.e Dibling.

Our U21 players must be thinking I need to move on if I want to develop here

Imagine us trying to sign some young strikers or FBs in the summer and he is still here, they will look at the likes of Dibling and Aznou and go foook that.

I dunno why you put a passive aggressive laughing emote to everything to disagree with ND but its OK the disagree on a footy forum. I just don't think hes earned those opportunities.
Sorry - No offence intended mate, or passive aggressiveness - I just find some comments amusing is all. I’ll lay off the laughs.

You’re entitled to your opinion and i enjoy the debate & discussion.

I think he hasn’t had the chance to earn the opportunity, a fleeting few mins here and there isn’t near enough to decide to bomb squad the lad, as it appears Moyes has done.

We don’t have the depth of squad capable of even having a bomb squad ffs.

It’s crap management, summing it up.

Thing is, if it was one of the young lads like Aznou not getting a look in we'd be wondering...why not?

When its now the England u19 captain and two England u21s who have barely had a chance...or Rohl and Iroegbunam who were dropped after decent games....heck even Patterson who was fine at RB compared to having two CBs with no pace rather than O'Brien;

Its clearly none of them and its all Moyes.

I think Aznou has been lied to.

I'm not saying Moyes is the Messiah. I'm saying he knows more than all of us jokers.
Well thats obvious from his recent press conferences...its not his fault if his players dont play up to HIS standards, whatever they are. This is where I disagree with the "keep Moyes" crowd. A MODERN manager has to be a man manager first...get the best out of the players you have and set them up to succeed. Its not just about stale Xs and Os and " gaffer" on the back of your tracksuit.

Its just a difference in fundamentals I guess, I think you earn your shirt, others like yourself believe you need game time to show what you have. There's no right way about it, some players definitely react differently to either method.

I think loyalty to the players embedded in their position gives them more confidence to express themselves and be better players. That might not look apparent given how average some of them have played at times, but for example if Myko or Keane were rotated every game I think they'd play a lot worse than they already do, thinking they have to try harder and impress and then more likely to screw it up. But that's just how I see it and how I've personally experienced it, and as an outside view it could well off the mark.
