2025/26 Adam Aznou

Hard to play well in cameos. Jeffers confirmed that when he was on the Rooney show saying how footballers need rhythm to perform

Same as anything isnt it? You do anything at a high level and then slow down or stop and it takes time to get back into it.

Are you suggesting that no player under 23 has ever played well and then been selected for the next game?

Good game and dropped or set up to fail?

Armstrong
Aznou
Alcaraz
Iroegbunam
Patterson
Rohl

Dibling's also been used high and wide totally isolated. He's had flashes when hes pooped up inside and then dropped again.

We've not seen Aznou play at full back other than being very average in pre season friendlies. The wings are very competitive positions for us, probably the only positions we are strong in. He's just going to have missed to bide his time like everyone else. If he was better he'd be playing, managers dont sabotage themselves.
Yes they do. It happens all the time.

"Jeffers confirmed" Like that time he played 31 games for Sheff Wed in the Championship and scored 3 goals? Or to use his full stats for them, he played 54 Championship games for them and scored 5 goals. What happened Fran? Not enough rythym? A bit too old? or young? Being in your mid 20's and all.

Think he was finished by then. Some players peak early

Peak early? Blimey, that's some early peak. He scored 18 league goals between the ages of 20 and 31, playing for Arsenal, Sheff Wed, Everton, Ipswich, Motherwell, Accrington Stanley, Newcastle Jets and err, Floriana.
You are aware injuries and life in general can affect a players performance right? If you don't think he wasn't a talent as a teenager and lost his way because he got lost at Arsenal then I can't help you on this topic

He lost his way because of money. He was a talent as a teenager, he clearly never fulfilled it. Losing his way at Arsenal and being behind Henry Bergkamp et al shouldn't lead to a player not being good enough to play for a championship side or a scottish side.

Look, I'm sure he made mistakes, and I'm not here to judge him, he's almost certainly made more of his life than I have, but I wouldn't read too much in to his comments. He made 292 professional appearances and scored 52 goals. He'd scored 18 of them before he left Everton, aged 20. I can't take it seriously when he effectively says he only scored 18 league goals, over 11 years, in a load of mediocre competitions, because he found it a bit difficult at Arsenal.

Well I'll keep believing footballers need rhythm and the trust of the manager to maximise their ability and potential as its a fairly obvious thing in all walks of life where if you have the belief of your superiors and find a rhythm knowing you can make mistakes without being dropped from a football team or being demoted or sacked from your job then you'll have the confidence to show your qualities and ultimately impress the people who lay judgement on you
