Cant see it mate - would literally make our whole collection of wide players redundant.

I would imagine either 442 with Rodriguez wide or something like 433.

Our collection of wide players made themselves redundant. I can see the width coming from the full backs with the diamond myself. With more traditional wingers at the ready to switch it up if needed. Even Iwobi/Bernard suit the tip of the diamond more than on the wing

Aye but wages wise we have Bernard, Walcott & Iwobi on around 300k a week between them.

Just cant see us allowing them to sit on the bench every week never to be used.

Oh 100%, I just used them for the example if anything - we should absolutely be looking to move Bernard on at least as his wages are massive and it will be positive on FFP. Iwobi won’t be moved due to the fee and time we bought him. Walcott to be fair is a proper winger who may have to be content to sit it out for now, he’s got a year left on his contract...I can see him going in January (based on absolutely nothing)

That midfield 3 has a bit of everything for me.

Theres also the possibility to play siggurdsson there if we want to go more attacking against the lesser sides, in more of a 4-2-3-1. I know most hate him, but if he could rediscover his form of two years ago with a proper midfield behind him, we could have him, rodriguez, Richarlison and dcl and kean contributing 50 goals between them.

we only have 1 out and out wide player at the club Seems like a formation that will get the best out of the players.

I had completely forgot Deco was ever at Chelsea until you mentioned him.

They'll get minutes,you just know we'll get injuries.

I also think he likes to be flexible on the system as the need arises, so having a range of different types of players is what he needs

Agree. Allan and Doucoure are the kind of players who would be perfect to play the 'wide' roles in a diamond as they both have the legs to cover the pitch horizontally. Then we could possibly see Gomes playing at the base of the diamond dictating play.

No good having them for a system that doesn't really use them though.

Just cant see us having a diamond midfield - think it will be a flat 442 or 433 but we'll see I guess.
