That’s my take on it too. A bit of physicality and pace would be massively beneficial. And to come in and play for Carlo alongside James and Allan must be exciting for him. He’s played well before no reason he can’t regain that form with a bit of encouragement.

I don't think that it is an odd way to run a football club, plenty of successful teams have waited for the right player to come available, I know a prudent approach isn't the way Everton usually do business mind you. Maybe I am being a bit harsh on Doucoure, yes I haven't been convinced but I am basing my opinion on his football ability which isn't great but in terms of energy we are missing a player like him. It would be disappointing if we paid more than 20 million though as I think there could be better options out there.

The move looks like it will happen,its just when. Watford want Swansea City captain Matt Grimes to replace doucouré according to reports,even though sky and co reckon 35mil, seems Watford want 25 and we supposedly offered 15mil-so fee probably somewhere in between

Based on absolutely nothing at all, I'm expecting Allan to be officially announced later today, followed by James being announced tomorrow, then a three day break before Doucoure is announced on Monday.

Id loan out davis to see if he can improve and developed possibly to Watford to help with transfer. Delph will be used as back up mid and left back with gordan as back up as well.

Yeah so am I not ready to write him off yet as others are on here. Like to see him in a functioning midfield and see how he goes, he done fine with Gueye by my recollection.

Yeah but can't see Rodriguez, Allan, Doucoure and Højbjerg.

Just wonder if Højbjerg was a cheaper/more affordable version of any, or even a bum steer to try and force through Allan etc.

Possibly. Maybe the club knew Napoli would be hard to deal with and thought Hojlberg would be easier to get in initially.
