The fee would be capitalised and amortised anyway for the sake of the accounts.
It would help cash flow but not necessarily profit and loss (unless FFP is based on cash flow like).

The unpaid bit becomes a liability and is amortised to the P&L account over time, I would guess.

Absolutely nothing. His wages and annual amortisation (his base fee divided by the number years on his contract) is what matters for FFP. The fee structure is just down to cash flow.
