Aaron Lennon

What are your thoughts on Aaron Lennon @Clem Fandango?

He is ace. Been our best player in pretty much every game for the last month. I love Geri but he's got a lot to do to get his place back. People talking about shunting him to the left to fit Geri in - makes no sense to me to move our best player out of position.

I also especially liked it when we sang he's one of our own against Spurs.

I mentioned a while back if he came on a permanant transfer and he showed the same commitment as when he was on loan then we would have a bargain on our hands at £4m, well he has not disappointed and at the moment if he continues his form it would be good to think he could perhaps be considered for the Euros.

So Lennon has a bit of an injury then, which could explain his withdrawl against West Ham that the majority of the weapons have been moaning about ('ridiculous taking him off', 'he didn't look tired to me). Naisse was the obvious like for like replacement at that point which the 'random substitution' anti Martinez argument out of the water.
Talk about those with an agenda going off half-cocked, just because they don't know any of the actual reasons for anything that happens.

Where've you seen that Lennon is injured?

It would be a huge blow. But then I wouldn't put it past Deulofeu to do some damage.
We have more than adequate cover, aye.

Personally though I think it goes to show how much of a shrewd signing Lennon has been.

I know more than a few were a bit sceptical on him signing (not me believe it or not), but we've come to see he still has a lot to offer, and have probably saved the remainder of his career in return. Thinking about it, he was treated with huge disrespect at Spurs. He was made to train with the reserves, but he didn't speak out publicly against them or anything. Why effectively punish someone for basically coming to work every day?

D'ya know what, I hope he does. Really like the lad.

If he tires, swap for Deulofeu (is Mirallas banned for today)?

We've options lads.
Mirallas will miss today yeah, one game ban. Lennon will be sharper than Deulofeu so hopefully he's there or thereabouts fit enough.
