If Mirallas goes and we can get Lennon for less money then I think it'd be a sensible signing.

Given that we have no idea as to the summer transfer budget, this is fair. Lennon is no world beater but he would be a useful signing for sure and significantly better than McGeady.

If Kev stays and if we will sign Lennon, we'll actually have two non-gash wingers, one for each flank. The real question is: will Bobby play them in the same team often? And i'm sorta scared of the answer tbh

If Osman/Piennar are availble for the other wing he probably won't if this and last season are any guide (Deulofeu/Mirallas only started two games together and one was the awful Crystal Palace game where Deulofeu got withdrawn at half time).

Worked out pretty well last season tbf.

Fast as anything, excellent workrate and despite some questionable decision making in the final third actually looks to have some talent.

Provided the lads workrate isn't just to get a contract then I would snap him up for 6 - 7 million (which is bugger all to pay these days).

While we aspire to be a truly top side we are nowhere near it yet and Lennon would be an excellent signing in the interim.

B -- Covers for Coleman
C -- Has scored a couple of goals

These are all great points on why we should sign him-- followed by the "he'll only cost £6mil" as a reason to go for him as well, or "he's better than McGeady"...

I don't just want someone like this, I want someone like this who can pass and cross a ball into Lukaku or someone who can interchange on both flanks and scare the life out of the opposition defence with his final ball.

At 27 years old he isn't going to improve and yes he's an upgrade on McGeady but he's not top class.

If Martinez went out and brought in two players like Deulofeu/Silva/Konoplyanka/Perisic PLUS Lennon I'd be fine but the reality is he will likely sign Lennon and perhaps one more when he could be adding to the £6mi and signing a really top player.

that's assuming quite a few things, such as them being available, us being interested, them being a responible price, them wanting to come here, etc. I could see del and Rafael silva being more realistic than the other to. on a free konoplyanka is going to have plenty offers and most will offer higher wages than us. Wolfsburg is 2nd in bundesliga and going to be in CL next year and it's not like he'll be sat on the bench when he comes back from injury

If Lennon was the only winger we signed in the summer I'd fume and as I said earlier he isn't a player to help us challenge for the top four.

Having said that he is better than what we have now with the exception of an in form Miralles and coupled with his relatively low cost I think it's a no brainer of a signing.

This is all irrelevant though as we are signing Deulofeu in the summer...

I'd keep him. Deulofeu was ace at dribbling half the length of the field then twatting it into the side netting. Both would be great.

Sure, but there must be more than them out there who we are scouting as well, I guess Silva is most likely looking at the 12months old rumours of scouting him and that hes playing for braga.

For me id rather we went for someone like that for 12mil than lennon for 6mil. Yes its a gamble and yes it could be a disaster as he could be a foreigner unsuited to the league but this is where scouts and martinez earn their money and this is how if it comes off we get to the next level.

For me thats a calculated risk which has to be taken if we are to reach top 4.
