71 and yet still full of life
What is your secret to youthfulness..
One might argue that there is no such thing as freedom as we have to comply with laws, often ones we don’t agree with.Or perhaps - people died for freedom, your second line would contradict that.
Many countries have compulsory systems:If people can't be arsed to vote a couple times a decade they obviously don't care to have a voice.
And how do you plan to enforce this compulsory voting?
Fines? Imprisonment? Criminal record?
Sometimes freedom is being able to not do something as well as doing something.
Many countries have compulsory systems:
Quite different ways of handling it.
I thought the same at the last election. I read their manifestos. They were pretty thin on any actual policy, and big on saying they they would do stuff without any of the how they'd do it. That's something both parties need to work on before the next election. Can't fathom how people would want to vote for the party of ex-Tories who represented the conversatives at their most dysfunctional.
It will be Greens or Lib Dems for me.
Why? Because the ones we vote for don't!A bit of a controversial view but for some time I've been of the opinion that you should have a minimum level of intelligence before having the privilege to vote
Because not all Tories, or former Tories, are the same. It isn’t a random group of ex-Tories who have moved to Reform. It’s a relatively small number, and they all seem to have quite a lot in common — more traditionally conservative, more right-wing, with strong views on law and order, immigration, and more populist etc. Can't fathom how people would want to vote for the party of ex-Tories who represented the conversatives at their most dysfunctional.

Excellent point. Dianne Abbott says hello! Why? Because the ones we vote for don't!![]()
