A plea

Oh I don't know, the tory exodus to reform will see a seismic change amongst those that wouldn't vote for sunak like they won't vote for badenoch. How they explain this one away will take some doing.

You don’t take enough notice of politics and life in general if you think voting doesn’t make a difference.

As bad as this Labour government is they are worlds away from reform and everyone should be doing everything they can to vote against reform at the next election

If I lived in a swing seat and the tories were second to reform I’d vote Tory. That’s how bad I believe reform will be for this country.

T
Potentially and I'm not saying I don't agree with the sentiment.

I just don't think there's a realistic possibility of achieving the necessary ground swell of voters, at least not in the short term.

There's too many people so entrenched in their voting choice for it to work in my opinion.
This is the record for spoiled ballot papers, pretty miniscule in the great scheme of things.

'The 1979 General Election had a particularly large number of spoilt ballots, and still holds the record at 117,848 with the 2019 General Election a close second with 117,101.'

I don't give a monkeys what some half wit thinks.
Terry, not a pop at you before you think it is, but I’d really love to understand the reasons why people think reform would be the best option for the country, what policies do they have that make you think .. “ yeah, that sounds really positive and would improve my life”, I honestly, personally, see nothing they offer as beneficial to me or my family in any way. I’m happy to be educated on this though.

A plea: PLEASE DON’T VOTE (for anyone).

If you seriously believe voting makes any difference, you’re not paying attention.

Labour left a mess in 2010.

All parties tried their absolute hardest to delay and cancel democracy after the Brexit referendum.

The Tories left a mess in 2024.

Labour have picked up the baton and are continuing with the managed decline at warp speed.

Reform are a faux pressure valve, to make people think there is an alternative to the uniparty.

Westminster doesn’t hold any real power, they’re just middle managers. The civil service and legal system are subservient to international treaties and agreements made by unelected ‘elites’ (parasites) in unelected organisations like the WEF.

All voting does is legitimise the whole clown show.
Except Labour didn’t leave a mess in 2010.

That was caused by the global banking crisis and bailing the banks out which were deregulated by Thatcher.

So try again, this time with facts.

The Tory manifesto and budget plans in 2010 weren’t too dissimilar to labours.

If you even mention the note left by Liam Byrne in the treasury I might get insulting 😉

I'm a relatively normal bloke - I like to think. I'm in no position to try and force my views on other people. Politics is personal. PR and propaganda are poweful tools.
I didn't vote for this Labour government and many who did are now regretting that decision. Bizarre really when you think of the shambles the tories left - but this lot are taking it to another level. There's outright liars and corruption at the highest levels. I don't forgive self aggrandisement, cheating, tax dodging or cronyism. I think most of the country agree as Reform are polling at 30% - almost double Labour. I'd never vote for the tories and lib dems and greens are irrelevant in my view. It's too easy to say I won't take part in elections - but that abdicates responsibility. I read Animal Farm. Tells me a lot about politicians. How do the succesful ones nearly all become multi millionaires from relatively modest MP salaries. They should be audited every year.
So what does Reform offer me? A chance for change - and maybe a chance that they'll get some people in who are cleverer than me - with business savvy - to run this country properly. Will it work ? I dunno. Probably not. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I've said my bit. I'm aware some people on here won't agree - and that's fine. Liverpool is a historic left wing leaning city. I don't live there.
We have Everton Football Club in common - and maybe that's enough for me. I certainly don't come on here looking for lifestyle choice advice and wouldn't expect to tell anyone else how to live theirs. I don't know them or what their circumstances are. I wish them all well though. Peace and love fella.

You might want to learn a bit more about Honest Nige before you vote for him then, pal, and look at what Reform have been doing with the councils they've been attempting to run. As for "cleverer than you" - Nadine Dorries? Jonathan Gullis? Lee Anderson? Really? Don't put yourself down mate. Even the "business savvy" Richard Tice gets regularly embarrassed on TV because he's an ignorant, self-righteous pillock.

They are seriously dangerous. If you think "it couldn't happen here" you'd be very wrong. They would be an.utter disaster. If you think this Labour party are bad, which they are, you ain't seen nothing.

Thanks for replying, although it doesn’t really answer my question. You say it’s a chance for change, which I hear, but you don’t say what that change is, what it may look like or what change reform are proposing (apart from tax cuts which greatly benefit the wealthy). I do however appreciate that voting is a very personal thing and that we are all free to make the choices we do.

Yet the current PM was the country’s top barrister and head of the CPS and gets more abuse than the lying career politician scumbags like Johnson and Farage.

Weird country this.
Starmer is / was a talented lawyer but could never be described as the "country's top barrister". He was a prosecutor and head of DPP. As an advocate he was as wooden as he is as a politician. Being a prosecutor is a bit of a paint by numbers lawyer.

You will find the most eloquent and able lawyers working in completely different areas of law .

As a centre left lawyer myself I am incredibly disappointed how Starmer has performed but not surprised. I don't know him ( but do know people who know him well ) and although I think that generally he is a decent man trying to do the right thing ( although I suspect that he's shown his true colours blocking Burnham ) he lacks political conviction / backbone and either lacks empathy or emotional intelligence and fails to connect with the public.

The Labour party can surely do a lot better .

That said the fella is light years ahead of Johnson , Truss , Farage etc when it comes to honesty and integrity.

I've been thinking I might have to vote Tory. Out labour guy is pretty good, and has a good voting record but unfortunately his party have killed his reputation somewhat, although he is quite vocal on Palestine so will get a decent amount of support through that

Labour and Tory got around 31% each here, reform 12% so I should be ok locally

Yeah, that's the issue isn't it. You get someone who seems a decent person and they must get bullied in and out of the party. The same could have been said about John Major, by all accounts a nice guy who knew the names of nearly all the civil servants he worked with and got bullied out

Now, I'm not saying he's a Reform supporter....

Folks, please don’t vote for FARAGE.

Please. Don’t
Call this a prediction. Reform are nowhere near the level they are being projected to be. It's ukip but being backed by the media , the more coverage the media give them, the more people are swayed by them being more popular than they are. Come election time , the Tories most likely will meek into power again whilst everyone loses their minds over the big bad Nigel

Labour are doing exactly what the Tories set them up to do.
