lets face it, in terms of injuries, this season was truly the worst case scenario (yakubu vaughan saha cahill osman pienaar fellaini arteta the list goes on), and we've weathered the storm remarkably. as long as luck doesn't absolutely bend us over and screw us next season, the team we have will be sufficient. i say we save that money, spend significantly less, and offer tasty contracts to insure our players don't get any dreams of silverware in their heads look elsewhere

Not a fan myself. Especially now he's gone to 2 leagues and not really done anything - cant get a game in the slower paced Itallian Serie A, doesnt get a regular game in the premiership since coming on loan.

Chelsea wont buy him I dont think because they dont have a long term manager. He'll be back at Inter and be getting sold on. I think there's a reason why the Fat Waiter over the way hasnt bought him.

Raid Valencia. Every other team will. But I have a funny feeling Moyes wouldnt go for Manny, and that Manny would want to stay at Valencia when all the top star players go so he can get 1st team footy. But the wage thing might tempt him away.

I think thats spot on mate, i always thinkif Moyes really wanted him he would have bought him instead of Mofro, lets face it Valencia wouldnt have turned down 15 mill.

Could be. Valencia did say we had frist dibs on Manny. But I think as time went on, funds werent readily available, and with Carsley leaving, Moyes had to either re-think who he was willing to throw money at. As time went on Manny impressed in training at Valencia and we seemed to lose interest with Moyes wanting more stature and pressence in the midfield. Then Moutinho became a very real possibility.

Hopefully the club will learn from last summer and put in a better plan of action - something I think Elstone could be better at than Wyness who seemed to balls up a lot of transfers (did he leave due to interferance from other parties?).

So if we're going for a Moutinho as our main target, at least have other cheaper and potentially similar if better options (like Manny) waiting in the wings.

He's looked good and been hungry when he's played for Chelsea, he was just unlucky that Essien came back when he did. He should get in ahead of Malouda and Kalou in my opinion. Still a very good player.

I'd spend the whole 15mil on Fernandes, even if Valencia were willing to accept less, so as to make it impossible to sign anyone else. None of Manny's spotlight should be shared among lesser portuguese international midfielders.
