the league's so tight we need 3 points every week. That's why Sunderland was so frustrating, cos we need to be 'winning' like charlie sheen in a gack snorting contest. Today was brilliant but if we can beat Stoke away then I think we'll start to get our pre-Sunderland confidence back.

Didn't realise that...

Doesn't look good for city does it? Away form is a bit dodgy considering the squad they have. Cant believe (bar one) they have played all the top teams at home already. Though they did win them all.

If city win all their home games (and 2 seasons ago they dropped 2 points at home all season so not implausible) they'd only really need 8 away wins to win the title, so they could well lose all those tough aways and be champions

We haven't really been 2nd best to anyone except Man City in any of the matches we've played, and even then we game them a good game.

2nd half of the season should hold no fears at all for us.

Disappointed that were 3 points from 3rd, with the gap having grown a bit. As stated you need 3 points every week with thelikes of Utd and Spurs chalking up wins week in week out against mid-lower table opposition.

The Stoke game is huge in this respect, and yet they've only lost once at home this season (bizarrely to Norwich), and have beaten Chelski there recently.

For the first time ever, I was wishing Chelsea/RS to be a draw. Could stand the RS being level on points with us for one week, if it meant Chelsea had two less points. Theres a little gap developed, but its only the width of one win.

I wanted the same. Anything less than 3 wins between now and the derby could do serious damage to top 4 aspirations.

Which makes Osmans actions against Sunderland even worse.

Lads, it's half way through the season and 4th means nothing right now.
I see posts about how we will get on against the top 8, now haven't you learnt anything? The race for fourth won't be won by winning those games, Sunderland on Boxing Day proved something. The game against Palace proved something. Shall I add Cardiff? Basically, I'm saying we need to be focusing on every game with the same intensity as the games against Liverpool, Chelsea, city, etc. we might beat Liverpool and Chelsea but lose to Norwich at home next week.

Next game against Stoke is massive.

They were blown off the park by Spurs today. We gotta fancy our chances.
Only 48hrs between matches. There will be tired legs on both sides.
