Regardless of party, running for President is the big leagues and the learning curve is (almost) vertical - not a lot of time to learn and try to stay viable.
Yeah this isn’t a “Do you agree with Obama’s Libya policy”, which was a question that helped sink Herman Cain’s 2012 run (at least what was left of it after the payoffs to bury multiple groping allegations - quaintly those used to doom a GOP candidate )

Scott has been in the Senate for 10 years, he has a Bsc in political science and he is on the HELP Senate committee https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unite...ttee_on_Health,_Education,_Labor_and_Pensions which has public health under its purview - this should not be a question he is unprepared for.
Given Trump is trying to neuter him before the race really kicks off I’m surprised DeSantis gave Trump allies this pr opportunity of being out of state during the flooding.
