Must be a relief to be in the 1% of super intelligent and independent thinkers of the world.
This must be how you come up with such independently derived unique opinions like ‘Trump doesn’t really mean the terrible things he says. It’s all just for show.’
Must have been a real Eureka moment when you came up with that insight, and definitely not one I’ve been hearing since 2016.

It's getting depressingly more evident that if a poor decision can be made, then that choice will be made.
The USA needs 2 strong grown up parties that aren't bickering with each other and both working for a better future.
Unfortunately that seems far away right now.

Agree with this. On one side you’ve got the Democrats, who I genuinely believe that at least on some level mean well. Unfortunately over the past decade they’ve basically been Murphy’s Law come to life. Just own goal after own goal. On the other, you’ve got the Republicans who are deeply unserious people whose entire platform the last two cycles has basically been pwning the libz and inflicting pain for the lulz.
It would be great if we could just get back to a place where the elections centered on genuine good-faith debate about the merits of actual policy. How we get there is anybody’s guess, because I certainly don’t know.

They need a clear choice between a Democratic Party that's going to attack corporate America and close the massive gap between rich and poor and a Republican Party there to always serve the rich.
All they have now is Hobson's choice between two neo-liberal juggernauts that adopt different strategies to keep the yawning gap between the have's and have nots which is served up as a false dichotomy based on cultural difference. Essentially that's it.
They could do with a charismatic left-populist figure to emerge too. They have had them in American politics - someone like Huey Long in the 30s was a precursor to Bernie Sanders. It's time another figure emerges from the radical left. The US has a long and proud - and important - left wing tradition.

It was cowardice, yellow bellied cowardice, democrats had seen the trump effect on the republican party and then how he'd turned hilary to dust and didn't fancy the fight. They've shied away from the trump confrontation and only a geriatric was prepared to give it a go on the back of the feel good factor of the Obama years. The trump effect has altered the political landscape and they couldn't adapt. Their refusal to get dirty and fight dirty has been their undoing, it's all well and good owning the niceties of society, but there is more sway fighting for and being from the gutter as that's where the majority is. The scum that owns trump recognise this and played directly to it.
The disenfranchised masses were happy to go along because 'it aint gonna harm me' attitude.
Highfalutin ideals are all well and good, but does it put food on the table for the poorest? trump has conned those suffering that he cares and will make their lives better with his 'great deals' and his 'fixes', he didn't deliver previous and won't this time, but that is compared to what the dems did and didn't deliver.
Cut throat - winner takes all - anti-society has brought this about, self inflicted injury, trump is a symptom. The americans have made this nightmare, now they have to live it.
There is no money in that, what's left is attacking and stealing the crumbs that are left on the plates of the poor. Why fight and suffer and build something? There's just as much reward for far less effort in violence, minorities, illegals*, gay and trans. Demonise those and make them pay.

Obviously Dems unlikely to get the House but even so, the narrower the House margin the better.
I wish the interviewer had asked RFK about concepts like herd immunity and how, as a health insurer or practitioner , it is probably good business practice to avoid a raging epidemic.
