They're all to blame. Biden should never been allowed to run in 2020 without a solid plan for 2024 if he was too frail to run. Anyone could see it was a possibility given his age.

The other thing the Dems need to grasp is that Trump won because people voted for him in droves.

I thought Trump would win since I knew he was running again, but the nature of his victory has been a bit of an unpleasant surprise. Seems being a cxnt is a desirable characteristic these days.

This isn’t really turning out to be true. He’s going to end up with almost exactly the same number of votes he lost with in 2020. People just stayed home and didn’t vote for her in droves.

If you’re quoting the language of others sound I find grown men using beta or soy boy to describe a whole swath of people a bit odd but we’re all different aren’t we ?

I personally didn’t thing Harris wanted the job and had to be talked into it due to the sudden nature of the Biden situation.

She was the most “ready to go” option, not necessarily the best. There just seemed to be a lack of energy in the campaign in comparison to Trump’s 24/7 wall of utter bollocks.

It was like an Everton managerial change. Everyone knew it was on the cards so why not prepare for it. Harris was the ready made option to gamble on but make your decision in haste and now there's 5 years to repent at leisure.

In Australia Albo is in trouble already & Labor lost Queensland despite a massive package of cost of living relief & a weak LNP candidate.

It was like an Everton managerial change. Everyone knew it was on the cards so why not prepare for it. Harris was the ready made option to gamble on but make your decision in haste and now there's 5 years to repent at leisure.

They didn't really have a choice but to make a decision in haste 100 days out from polling day and massive legal questions over transferring campaign funds already raised to anyone other than her.

The error was not having a plan far, far earlier. That they put themselves in that position is a massive dereliction of duty.

Some say Pelosi and others pushing him out and not having a primary was the issue
Others saying running a female candidate in a partially misogynist country was the issue
Some saying the Gaza approach even though Trump will be far worse
same for Ukraine
Some saying not countering the lies from Trumps side immediately and forcefully over the last few years e.g. Trans Sports, Afghanistan etc.
Apathy among Dem voters this time and less engagement overall because when Trump was the incumbent his incompetence was obvious
Incumbents losing globally due to the post pandemic economic recoveries
Information silos and the ease with which Trump's side and friendly media lie and gaslight
People find actual policy talk boring and prefer the reality tv candidate

There are plenty of directions to point the finger but I can't shake the thought that Harris lost because a lot of Trump voters not in the cult, know what he is but don't care. That is the most damning reality of what the US is now. An absence of morals, fascistic tendencies and blatant criminality are no longer deal breakers in modern America
